George was a great guy and a fantastic Pres. IMO.

In 1993 I talked to him for almost 3 hours about pretty much anything.
He was at Whidbey Island Naval Station for three days for their airshow and the brought in a restored TBM Avenger, (WW2 carrier fighter),
That's the plane he was shot down in.
He would stand beside it and talk to people and pose for pictures and stuff.
This was a 2 seat version and on press-day, (Friday), Old George hopped in (as the passenger) and I found a suitable photo plane that we could take the door off and took air to air shots all over the sound and even up to Victoria.
This is some of the kind of stuff I dad.
Funny note; His two sons were were going to meet up with him on the Monday after the show to go fishing up north in B.C....

What? Because I consider Powell half decent?

For the record, I considered George HW Bush a decent, honorable and intelligent man.
Extremely conservative, so I disagreed with him on many issues, but intelligent and decent.
More than half decent.

I just didn't think he was the last one.
Last I checked, Powell was still alive.
