I’d guess he’s going to need 92-95 points at minimum to get an extension

I agree. I think the team has to earn him a new contract this season. If they are still in the playoff race in the last month of the season and just miss the playoffs, he’ll likely get a new contract; but I could also see him getting replaced during the season if the team has a double digit losing streak, or fall completely out of the playoff race. It’s a big year for Benning.

Ladd is off to Robidas Island, giving the Isles a total of over $14M in cap room this season.

Next summer Greiss $3.33M and Martin $2.5M come off the books

... and next summer they move out Boychuk $6M and maybe Clutterbuck $3.5M

... to make room for Barzal.

Hadn’t heard anything about Ladd. That’s surprising to me. Seems like a pretty honest guy who’d want to play as long as he possibly could.

Apparently his knees are shot, he only played 26 games last year, he's 34 in December.

Ladd is a bigger air thief than Lucic, Brouwer, Alzner and Seabrook combined
