Bo is on the straight laced side, for sure. Not Blobbee’s kinda wingman when prowling the DTES if you know what I mean.
Imagine having to do everything that little soft shelled turtle looking motherfucker says to unlock your cake. No wonder the Islanders have been meek and weak forever

Just watch Dobson blossom now in EmTeeEL

The New Jersey Devils were tough as hell under him and Lemaire…..won a couple Cups iirc.

Neidermeyer, Stevens and Brodeur had more to do with that than anything Weird Lou did

Maybe the Canucks could be like the new version of the Lemaire Devils era. The strength of those NJD teams was goaltending and defence like the Canucks now. The Devils didn’t necessarily have elite superstar forwards either.

Not near the slopiness of Elmer. He is the worst GM in franchise history followed by Jack Gordon and Jake Milford. He was a big fat jellyfish. Allvin is ten times the manager.

Lou acquired all those guys.

Hahahaha Blob takes the bait. Lou is one of the best GM's ever.

Elias, Rafalski, Almo etc.... you need to lay off the rock. 28 years, 3 cups and 5 finals appearances.

Appreciate the new found optimism from you, I had earlier suggested that they remind me of the Nashville teams of 2016-2019 which won a Presidents Trophy and whose top scorer was under 65 points...

But I like how they remind you of a team which won Cups....

Take care...

I remember you saying that, Rikster. It seems we are on the same page, still need to get some horses in the forward group and I mean top 6. We have plenty middle 6 and bottom 6 that some are obsessed with wanting more of. Hopefully Cootes and Lekkerimaki are the beginnings of that top 6 level stock piling.

lol, I remember that too ....

I wonder if the player in question over the video game addiction has ever been disclosed? Jeff Marek who claimed to know who the player was had publically stated that it wasn't Juolevi..

Take care...
Yeah, you are right - foggy memory on my part.

Injuries were the likely issue for his poor conditioning. Too bad, but still - a pretty big draft miss. Organizations just can't afford to miss when drafting in the top 5, unless they do it every year like Edmonton.

Come on Chef - between their 2000 & 2003 runs, they had depth at forward the likes of which the Panther's would be jealous of:

Elias, Nieuwendyk, Arnott, Mogilny, Langenbrunner. Gomez, Friesen, Madden, Gionta - it was a perfectly created defensive forward group - anyone of these guys could have won the Selke in their prime (well, maybe not Gionta or Mogliny). I think Madden might have.

OJ was picked right where he was projected to go. It was deemed a safe pick at the time

Sure, but Tkachuk was ranked higher - if someone falls to you in the draft, you take em. BPA.

The Devils 2003 cup winning forward roster:

Patrik Elias
Scott Gomez
Jamie Langenbrunner
John Madden
Brian Gionta
Jeff Friesen
Sergei Brylin
Jay Pandolfo,
Turner Stevenson
Jim McKenzie
Pascal Rheaume
Grant Marshall
Jiri Bicek
Mike Rupp.

Yeah, Jello Bud, Chef disagrees with you big time. The heart of that Devils cup winning line up in 2003 was defence and goaltending, as it always was. I will even go as far as saying our current forward group with the best version of Pettersson can match that forward group. I’ll take the best version of Petey over Elias 8 days a week.

The key trifecta is:

Hughes, Hronek and Demko

Vs

Neidermeyer, Stevens and Brodeur

Unfortunately for us, the Devils win in that department. If Willander pans out as we all hope and Elias D Pettersson continues to impress, throw in M. Pettersson, the two defences “overall” could be on par with each, that is if the two kids keep impressing. Although Rafalski and Daneyko were pretty damn good.

I suspect the Canucks management group were smelling character flaws that might indicate a propensity to bolt for sunny shores the first chance he got!
