He's not a 10 million dollar goalie yet.
Got a lot of proving to do before we talk about that kind of coin.
Not sure you're getting much for him at this point either.
The thing to do might just be to hang onto him at the bargain rate he's currently at and see where it takes you. That's one option alright.
But if I get an offer that knocks my socks off next summer I'm definitely thinking about it.

I dunno. Given Demkos contract status ($5mil till end of next year) Silovs’ contract/waivers status and the continued development of both Tolo and now Ty Young down in Abby, throw in the teams strong history of developing #1 Tendy’s, I’m in the boat of stay the course and deal Lank by the deadline to the highest bidder. I don’t see Lank sitting more than 2-3 starts before he see action again (enter Topper rant) so why would his play falter given he’s a career back up?
Unless Demmer either fails to gain his form or winds up back on the IR, Lankinen should be a goner.
Silovs can spend the next 4 months getting regular reps in Abby, while Demko and Lank split duties to the deadline.
With Lankinen’s strong play and his bargain basement contract, I bet Allvin could start a bidding war tomorrow given the stage of the season.

I'm convinced he's a high quality injury prone goalie Blades. I think he's going to want a king's ransom to sign and then spend a lot of time rehabbing injuries. I'm seeing a pattern.

Demko only has another year or 2 before his contract is up. We should know by then how durable he is.
What would it take to sign Lankinen? 3 x $3M, 4 x $3.5?
Lock him up before the tdd
$10M goalies win Vezina's and Stanley Cups.....frankly the league has maybe one guy who is worth close to that.

It's a tough call, you could go a couple of different directions with this. But, if I had to make the call right now I think I would let Tocchet ride him hard for the rest of the season and playoffs and then start taking calls if he holds up. If he breaks down you let let him play out his contract or sell cheap.

I’m picking up what your layin’ down Megs. But from my view point, we have him for another two playoffs at a manageable value. He’s a core player, incredible person with impeccable work ethic and intangibles.
Too soon to give up on him, too early to worry about his next contract. That will play itself out.
See how he responds to rehab, then see how he handles the playoffs.

Which reminds me I have some Silver Haze upstairs…
Classic strain right there Lancer. I love that one
Homegrown.
It was a good year for the crop, and I think I got the potency just. Right.
That's awesome Lancer. Was it outdoor this summer?
Oh yeah. Great weather for it. Couple of my other strains took off like mutants.

True story.
Besides, barring some serious hardware and performance, Demko and Swayman are in a similar class. $8M not $10M.

I was on here a year ago talking about him being injury prone and Tocchet needing to give a rest and that was before he pulls his whateveritis.
My outlook hasn't improved. And I think he rates himself well above the Swayman-Sorokin line, though I could be wrong.
Bottom line is though, you can't stop the puck when you're on IR.

He hasn't done shit in the playoffs yet outside of the bubble.....and after that bubble he was off and on dog shit for a couple of seasons.
Hardware (individual and team), consistency, longevity/durability, age, all factor in when negotiations begin.
He's too old for them to go the same way that they did with Perimettersson. If Demko's ask is too high, or if there is any sort of holding out behaviour, then they need to cut bait and let someone else roll the dice on getting 50 games plus playoffs out of him.

I just don't think this is today's NHL though. Teams want two good goalies. If Demko returns to form, we have that. in a year where we are pushing to go further than the 2nd round. Last year if we hadn't had 3(!) good goalies, our uber season would have been down the shitter before playoffs even began.
I just don't see them trading any goalie this season, at least not in any of the scenarios offered. I'm not sure we get a haul back that we can't say no to either, at least for small sample size Lankinen.. a low 1st from a playoff team? I don't see us throwing away our this season safety net for a low 1st.

Ok, just watched the highlights and it seems to have been all Bruins. These were high-quality, grade-A chances too. Anyone but Eddie Lank in net, possessed by the ghost of the shit-eating grin and it's a different story.
Did the shot totals tell the truth? Tocc couldn't have been too happy with those egregious turnovers.
Anyway, always satisfying to win in Beantown. Great job, Corn. Keep 'er going.

Man, so glad we didn't keep Lindholm (22GP, 3G, 7A, 10pts). I would have liked to keep him around for the 3rd line centre postion, but not @ 7 X 7.7M.
I liked Zaddy more (like most of us), but he's not fariing much better in Beantown (22GP, 0G, 5A, 5pts). @ 6 X 5M, it's looking like we dodged a bullet there thus far.
I have a buddy who is a big Flames fan. He's glad Calgary got rid of both of them. He also said the Nucks overpaid for Lindholm, but we are better off that we didn't resign the both of them long term.
Man, EL23 is looking like the next Loui Erikkson deal. The Bs can have him.
