So much good music has come out the last 30 years, why deprive yourself. Here’s a lead off track from one of my fave albums of the last 20 years

Also got to checking out some Hep Stars music that Per posted here recently and wound up rediscovering ABBA. I did not realize they were so popular outside of North America. I always thought they were popular here bur evidently they were much more popular just about everywhere else than they were here.Beatles-popular in some places.
You know, I was never a fan or anything but this is some darned good listening

They were huge. Especially in Britain, Germany, Australia and Eastern Europe, but they never really made it in the US.
Mainly because you couldn't get big in the USA if you didn't tour there and Agneta Fältskog had fear of flying.
They did do an Australia tour though, but other than that they mainly toured Europe.
At the time it was really uncool to listen to ABBA here in Sweden though. Everyone was into "alternative rock", especially with political texts.
That makes it hilarious to listen to people like Pete Seeger and Bob Dylan talk about ABBA and have nothing but praise for them...
It's crazy how big they were in Australia, and their songs have featured in a bunch of Aussie movies...
... like Prisiclla, Queen of the Desert...
... or Muriel's wedding...
I don't really think ABBA will ever be considered in good taste though. More of a guilkty pleasure or something your kids might like....

Some rather surprising covers of ABBA songs...
Or... OK, that last one wasn't all that surprising...

I used to worry about this but then I realized I could search for high quality old music for the rest of my life and never come close to exhausting the supply so I don't sweat it anymore. There's really no need for new music at all
