theman wrote: Wed Sep 17, 2025 1:04 pm So, what crazy things did Jimmy say this time?
Jim says Petey put the work in this summer; he didn't last summer.

Foote said Woo, Mueller, and Rybinskis are rehabbing injuries. All Abbotsford guys.

Rutherford brushed aside some nonsense about Hughes from Farhan.

Jim hopes a couple of the young guys make the team. He thinks a few of them are close.

Allvin believes we have the best goalie pipeline in the league, and the best tandem in Demko and Lankinen.

Getting close on a practice rink - Rutherford.
Jimmy “white lies” Rutherford all day long, or Loose Lips Rutherford. Mud Flaps Rutherford. Jimmy can’t be held accountable for what Jimmy says, the mouth has a life of its own.

Huggy sits down with Elliotte Friedman for an interview. Friedman asks him the million dollar question, what are the chances that he will stay in Van? Huggy kinda replies with nothing that we don't already know. He kinda beats around the bush and gives a long winded answer, but ends off saying that anything can happen throughout the year and his actions will say a lot next off season.

Maybe Foote is excited about running the show? He wants to be on the same page with his leader and best player. What a terrible thing. The guy has his older son going through a pro-longed sexual assault case while the younger one struggles to make it. Something tells me Nolan makes it in FLA, like guys cast adrift by this organization like Forsling and Gadjovich.

I thought we were packing a bit lighter? You are all over management like a bad smell. Rutherford this... Allvin that..... Foote is a puppet .... we have no idea of the context and setting of that interview.

RD, honest question. Why do you follow this team? Seems you have little good things to say.

You, nor anyone else here knows what he is thinking. If you context on why you think this then write that.

I've been thinking on the Foote thing a bit of late and my thoughts:

The team pulling a 180 away from the defense only system Tockey was rolling out to bringing the D in on every rush might be due to the Canucks asking for Quinn's input into how he wants the team to be playing as much as Foote and his staff.

If I was the best of the best defenseman in the league and I had my team ready to do anything and everything to make me happy I might step up and say I wanna play that style. It's not that far fetched to imagine.

Yes, we've heard this enough times - it's almost like you want it to happen. Maybe it's time for a new thought?

Nah
If you don't think about it constantly, and visualize him leaving, and talk about it incessantly, it won't happen. Trust me. I saw the trailer for The Secret. Chef is doing the hard work to drive him out, so we can all just relax.

(But, we still love you, Chef ol buddy)

Cool. It will be fun to see them in Vancouver at the end of Jack’s contract.

Yah, RD is actually doing us a solid. The more he says that Huggy is leaving, usually the opposite will happen and he'll stay. :P

JR was pretty much on record saying that he would like to find a way to bring the bros here. He always wanted M-Petey here and eventually got him. Maybe he can find a way to poach the unsigned Luke for now and then reverse the tables and sign Jack when he's a UFA in a few years. :D

Have the masterminds in New Jersey failed to leave enough cap to bridge Luke Hughes? I think that might be the case. Talk about shooting yourself in the groin area...
