Zero injuries to any of their players so far, and when they've been outplayed they've still won. Last night's game was a joke, Oilers weren't even in the same building as the Stars but somehow they won. I guess it helps when your coach whines about not getting PPs and somehow you get a couple right at the beginning of the game?

I'm firmly in Florida's corner so hopefully they can pull it off. Given I always seem to cheer for the loser I seem to doubt they will.
So far Edmonton has not won a series on their own merit. All of their opponents were either hit by key injuries and/or just miraculously failed to show up for games.

They haven’t won on the back of hot goaltending. Skinner has had maybe 2 good games all playoffs. Beyond that he’s been somewhere between hot garbage and average.

They haven’t won on the back of outlandishly great offense.

Their defense isn’t exactly stellar.

Makes one wonder…..

The Oilers have gotten stronger as the playoffs have worn on. They get the weakest opponent to start the playoffs then get us without our number one goalie. We really should have had that series but let it slip away.

Special teams are necessary for Edmonton to win the Cup. If the Cats can keep it, as much as possible, to 5v5 they will win.

As much as Edmonton has gotten better each series they also have horseshoes but you need that to win too. I just hate them so much. I won't say they aren't deserving of where they are because they are. They are playing a strong team game right now. But the Cats can beat them if they dont try to be the schoolyard bullies and eat all the PK time.

Will be happy for RNH if they win. He is a class guy. Other than that I really dont want them to win. Panthers, well it will sting to see OEL smiling and holding the Cup but overall it will be nice to see Luongo lift it up, albeit not as a player.

Panthers in 4, 5, 6 or 7. You heard it here first!

Edmonton has also been very lucky with injuries so far these playoffs.

..well, their PK is operating at a 94% efficiency with 3 GA in 49.opportubites and something like 28 kills in a row since their last allowed goal.

I'm no Oiler apologist but, let's call a spade a spade as that says something about defensive structure especially if we are going to crucify their netminding.

Maybe....butt...rumour has it McDaddy has a bum wrist which has hampered his ability and willingness to shoot throughout the post season which may explain only 5 goals.

I'm no Oiler apologist :D but perhaps, unlike 11.6, learning about succeeding through injury is a hill climbed with tenure and playoff experience by a top paid esrner in da league.

Seems early in our series with them there was scuttlebutt about the German donkey and his ribs as well.

And no doubt Kane is playing hurt.

So...not sure I'm buying in theman.

I have to admit that goal he had against Dallas yesterday was exquisite.

Yeah 'twas a great goal...having said that.....to bad Scott Steven's doesn't still play hockey.

It would be far more likely for Lancer to get his wish then.

I can’t give them credit for their PK in the second round. An atom B squad could have shutdown the Canucks’ zone entry and power-play.

From that series, and what I watched in the Dallas series, it wasn’t Edmonton taking away the chances or smothering the opponent’s PP. It was just mind numbingly bone headed execution and evaporating efforts on the part of the other team.
