Well, unless he threw it in, it should be allowed. You can bounce the puck off of players standing in front of the goal.
It didn't just bounce of his hand, he thrust his stick forward trying to get it with his stick but instead, fingered it. Directed in with a hand is the rule. Rather ham fisted.
Hoggy is supposed to be a high skill cap guy with motor. Not seeing any of that.Topper wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2024 8:03 am A few comments;
What has happened to CoHog, a surprise 20+ goal season, comes to camp topping the fitness tests and now a 4th line scrub sitting in the box for bench minors.
Has Tochy Hockey been tuned out already? Forwards coasting back. Unable to move the puck out along the boards. No pace to their game. D not being physical in front of the net.
Islanders were playing their third game in four nights but out skated and out worked the Canucks.
Topper, I have a hard time buying that a team that is coming off such recent success as they had last season that came from buying into a system and doing all the things that you point out are lacking in their game right now, would so quickly lose that buy-in. Granted there are a few new faces, but with the exception of the recently jettisoned Sprong, all of these guys are known for being 200 foot players who bring hustle to their game.306NucksFan wrote: I think Tochy has indeed been tuned out. Breakouts by this team are abysmal. Well coached teams like Edmonton, Carolina and I guess NYI make the Canucks look silly.
It might be as simple and the difference between a team that believes in the coaches and their system and a team that is going through the motions.
If this is the toxic atmosphere of the team then we are in huge trouble.Mëds wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2024 12:33 pm
Is it not more likely that this team is eroding from within because, despite them being professionals in the best league on the planet, they are still human and it is hard for men to rally when one of their key members is floating while collecting more money than the bottom-6 forwards combined. Management has essentially stated that the leaders of this team are Hughes, Miller, Pettersson, and Demko, and they've paid Scooter the kind of money that says they see him in the same category as players like Tavares, Crosby, Kucherov, Benn, Pastrnak, Barkov, Josi, and Makar.....the list could go on a bit so I'll digress. But none of those guys are known for mailing it in, and if this is a psychological issue, well what the hell are they paying this guy like that for because this funk is not a new thing for him. But the impact on teammates is undeniably going to be felt, and I think we are seeing it play out on the ice.
He has had 3 or 4 games this year where I could agree with you about being snake bitten. The remaining 11 or 12 have been a player who does not engage and cannot create space. He's 26 years old and making $11.6M a year.....and (as Topper has pointed out) he needs skating lessons and special treatment? No. I'm sorry. That salary means you are expected to lead AND produce. Think about the message being sent by management here.....we will pay you the biggest salary in team history based on a single season of 1.0ppg (or better) and the potential for that to continue or grow. Even though you hold out and don't want to sign for the same (or less than) your countryman who has proven to be a more consistent player, and more physically athletic.....we will still give you what you want.306NucksFan wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2024 1:00 pmIf this is the toxic atmosphere of the team then we are in huge trouble.Mëds wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2024 12:33 pm

Petterson has not been floating (IMO), he has just been a bit snake bitten on the scoresheet. Huge difference there!
So Mëds, are you saying a "toxic atmosphere" has been created because Petey is not living up to his contract?Mëds wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2024 1:29 pmHe has had 3 or 4 games this year where I could agree with you about being snake bitten. The rest of you we will pay based upon performance past, and we will nickel and dime you in negotiations.
That is absolutely going to have an effect.
I never used the word "toxic".Strangelove wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2024 2:30 pmSo Mëds, are you saying a "toxic atmosphere" has been created because Petey is not living up to his contract?Mëds wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2024 1:29 pmHe has had 3 or 4 games this year where I could agree with you about being snake bitten. BTW I think most people here would strongly disagree with you that Petey is "floating".
The effort is there.
No, no you didn't, 306 used it to sum up what you were saying... and you didn't disagree.
