If there are bright spots in this game, the PK is one of them.

Ok I have finally seen a battle level that is up to par for the first time this year. The last half a dozen shifts or so is the best hockey this group has played this year

Some other bright spots - Garland, nice to see him on both the PP and PK. Shows some gumption out there.
Myers is looking more war than chaos even with a bummed hoof.
DeBrusk has some hustle. Was Petey holding him back?
Hoggy creating, just not quite finishing.
Not much else.

I saw more good than bad. It had some warts but the intensity was solid after the first 12-14 minutes.
They should have won the first two games against inferior opponents but made a few egregious errors in the 3rd period. Tonight they played a good opponent with a top end coach that is getting his team to smother opponents despite their firepower. I guess we will know for sure in about three weeks.
Not worried. Would be if they folded after the first ten minutes.

A few comments;
Debrusk-Miller-Brock well that didn't take long. I was expecting to see it but not in game 3.
Ricky removes the second line, demoting $11.6M Scooter Boy to the third line with Suter moving to 4W and Bluger to 4C.
The Geriatric and RoboSwede additions aren't looking so good. I knew Deharnais was a young project, and assumed Debrusk had enough experience that he could slot in, but Henenin, Sherwood and Forbert are really struggling to find their way.
Crease clearing D play is non existent as the Lightening had their way with the Vancouver D. To add to the misery, the newly aquired forwards are hopelessly out of position and blow their coverage. Ricky D requires all hands on deck.
When push came to shove and the bench was shortened, the new guys all sat and watched.
