That draft was loaded with duds. Zak bogosian went 3rd schenn went 5th lol. LA could've drafted doughty and karlsson instead they went with colton tuebert

Boldy is a big boy out there, 6'2 - 187lbs already.

Boldy definitely fill the top LW spot, some compare him to JVR.

The guy has 41 points in 51 games and he plays with absolute shit linemates most of the time. At 5-on-5 Bo gets to skate with Granlund and Baertschi if he's lucky. We often see him being used to equalize a line with wingers who are playing 2 lines above their ability.

He's comparable to Patrice Bergeron when it comes to his 200 ft game, he's not quite the same level of playmaking, but Bergeron has had some dynamite players to skate with......Give Bo wingers like Marchand and Pastrnak and you probably see closer to 70 points out of Horvat.

I like Bo. But his ceiling is likely neither Bergeron nor Messier, to whom you have also compared him to.

Messier, love him or hate him, is considered one of the greatest players of all time. If Bo gets 2/3 of the way there I would be ecstatic.

Wasting Horvat on a third line in the next 7-8 years is asinine. The team is riddled with holes everywhere but centre ice. I’m all for picking BPA. But if the reasoning is to hack Horvat’s icetime back and play him like a 3rd line scrub, that’s beyond idiotic.

Horvat is an adequate 2C. I have no complaints. He isn’t elite 2C. He’s nowhere near the 200’ player that a Bergeron is, he can’t Penalty kill. He is not your classic centre in that he isn’t a very good set up man, play maker, throws the blinders on quite often and tries to do it all himself (his classic bull rushes). He plays like a winger. He’s not your perfect 2C but I have no complaints other than his motor conks out half way through his shifts at times

Horvat through the NHL to Juniors he almost has the same goal-assist ratio, just slightly more assists, you watch him play and he's more Kesler bombing to the net to attack with sometimes trying to setup plays.

It is why I prefer we get a #2C that has better passing and playmaking ability to make his linemates better, not the other way around, shouldn't need top flight wingers to make your center better.
