Byram - 17 goals 27 assists 44 points 45 games
6’-1” 192 lbs
Woo - 10 goals 31 assists 41 points 42 games
6’-0” 203 lbs
Excellent post. Will read again
Jett Woo - another later round draft day steal for ole Benning, something that is becoming common place for ole Jimbro at the draft table, why couldn’t ole Gillis draft successfully outside the 1st round?

Wasn't Gillis's bigger problem not drafting successfully in the 1st round?
He drafted one player with a more than 3 year career in Bo. After Bo, who's his second best 1rp? Gaunce?

He had to give up one of the games young premier goalies in Schneider to get Horvat after he couldn’t trade Luongo because of the contract he gave him. Let’s call Horvat a trade acquisition. His true first round pick that draft was Shinkaruk.
His 6 year drafting legacy outside the 1st round is the off and on Smiley Hutton. His 6 year NHL drafting legacy inside the 1st round hinges on Gaunce (currently toiling in the American Hockey League)

Horvat was a draft pick. A Canucks draft pick.
The pick was acquired in a trade.

And thank god Eye Bags was able to trade Schneider for a great draft pick. Schneider is immovable at this point. His play has completely cratered. What a great trade!

It wasn’t so difficult getting a high 1st for the Nonis prized draft pick, Bubbles. Remember, the Oilers offered their 7th (Nurse) plus extras for Schneider but ole Mikey didn’t want to trade Schneider to a division rival.

Who cares? It was still a good trade for a goalie who went straight into the shitter.
Either way it has fuck all to do with the draft coming up in Vancouver in five months.
As a hypothetical if the Canucks are picking 7-11 ish I hope Elmer will move an extra piece or two to move up if there’s a guy he really likes. Adding a kid like Byram or Cozens to the prospect pool would be huge. Acquiring a late 1st or early 2nd somehow would be ideal. Like to see them get one of Thomson, Foote or Korczak. Kelowna has a nice young team this season.
Take a flyer on Skin Tag Bertuzzi in the mid rounds

Regarding sons of ex-NHL’ers (Foote, Bertuzzi) with Benning taking John Maddens kid (the excellent prospect - Tyler Madden) over your choice - Jack Wise, the chances of you getting your wish (Foote, Beruzzi) are likely

My choice Wise. I was devastated they didn’t take him. What with one post regarding this player and all.
Pretty difficult for some people to stay on topic.

The GillisBros/BenningHaters tore Benning a new one for taking Madden over Wise. I thought you were a staunch GillisBro/BenningHater?

Regarding 7th to 11th, Blob. I don’t know who we take, the scouts rankings after the top 3 (4th to 15th) are flip flopping daily.
Seems to me that Cozens and Byram will be long gone. Dach is falling because of his skating and disappearing point production - a bad sign. Krebs is climbing, I like him, can play left wing as a playmaking winger which would be great for Horvat since Bo isn’t the greatest set up man for a centre.
