I care as much about Greztky's politics and friends as I care about the stains on Blobby Brown's couch.

Ian Cole gets re-upped for another year in Utah at 2.8m + 200 thousand in achievable 35+ old man bonuses.
He had a good season to get that. Canucks management sure whiffed on that one. I’m sure the early season PK struggles and late game collapses wouldn’t have happened as nearly as badly if Cole had been kept around. He would have helped in the locker room, too.

Now that the Canucks have rebuilt their defence and brought in the two D-Petterssons who should both be very good PK defenders, Cole is not needed anymore, but he was sure needed earlier this season before they were on the team.

Cole and OEL were miscalculations with injured players that social media wanted gone and the management group followed up which ended up being mistakes.

Let’s see if they do the same today because of the bad season EP40 has had and he goes off and Eichels for some other team?

Lol OEL had to go. He was damn near as useless as The Air Thief. Cole should have been brought back though. Good pker, good team guy. Apparently he was a little like Schenn in that they could control the 30 year old man child.

For anyone watching the 6 Nations Rugby Championship, this clip has a few examples of how I think the NHL can improve its video review ...

The replays the war room and the on field officials are looking at are played on the instadium screens so that fans in attendance and watching on tv can listen in to their discussions...

No secrecy, rather its like the fans are in the war room involved in the decision making...

Cole was middling at the start of last season, bad as the season wore on, and putrid in the playoffs. No player is as singularly responsible for the Canucks playoff loss than Ian Cole. It was totally reasonably to think bad would get worse.

That said, I am glad he had a good year. But it would have been nice if he had it in Vancouver.

I think it also speaks to where management is with their prospects...

Alvin referenced a couple of the prospects/Abby players when discussing the decison to move Soucy...

And they're high on EP25 and Mancini at the NHL level...

And they need to make room for Willander next season...

I also think its a reflecion of how managment thinks their best players are now old enough and experienced enough that they can start mentoring the young players instead of needing mentoring themselves....As of today they are the 7th youngest team in the league ...

Take care..

Speaking of Marchant, send with his salary structure and the Boston retention, the Panthers are only paying him $125K on real money for the rest of the season.
