What's the idea though? Do we ban foreign funding of NGOs? Are there any unintended consequences of that approach?
We do ban foreign money from political parties. Make the NGO's disclose where their money come from. Make it part of the nominal owner disclosure we keep hearing about when it comes to money laundering.
No doubt some work arounds, like David Suzuki resigning from the David Suzuki Foundation so he can do the political work the Foundation is banned from.
We should ban it all. Only accept foreign aid during a crisis. Too many of the current NGOs are shills for their foreign paymaster, and too much of it is foreign interference.

Eby's Safer Supply increased opioid hospitalizations by 33%.
Trudeau/Eby decriminalization increased opioid hospitalizations another 58%.

Seems Eby wants full autonomy to do what he wants for 2 years or he is willing to go back for a conference vote and a new election. I certainly hope the Greens don’t cave in to their demands and a new vote happens.
BC Conservatives just need to do a better job on screening some of their candidates before the election.
NDP should be more worried about losing the election.

What I hate is Bernier is targeting the other right wing party and not the 2 leftist parties…. I’ve hated that split since it happened…

Are you only catching on to this story Reef?
The Greens need to s step up to shut this down. Unfortunately they signed a deal to back the NDP the day before Eby announced his totalitarian intentions.
Then there is the matter of the treaty negotiations on the Sunshine Coast that gave up a large piece of land and legal control to the local band. Deal was done last August but held secret until well after the October election. Eby only announced it in late January.

No I heard about it before but I thought he would back down, now I hope the Greens call his bluff and take us to a new election.
NDP will lose it this time as long as the conservatives bet their members better.
The 3 people that left will all lose their seats back to the conservatives.

If it isn't a confidence vote, then the government will survive even if the Bill is defeated.
Greens have left the door open to amendments, Business leaders are voicing their opposition. Eby, if you can believe him, says he wasn't aware of the far reaching powers.
New claim staking in BC for mineral exploration is now at the whim of the aboriginals.

Eby promises to tone down Bill 7.
Greens weren't happy but bigger than that, the business community that had initially endorsed it for the inter-Provincial trade portion of the Bill, wrote back to the Premier that the far reaching Legislative powers could not be supported.

Eby just tabled the original Bill 7, including the sweeping Cabinet powers outside of Legislature oversight and a few minutes into debate the Order Paper had to be pulled, the Legislature briefly adjourned until the correct Bill 7 could be tabled.
Amateur hour is what the press is calling it.
...and Standard and Poors has again downgraded BC credit rating due to the unsustainable debt the government continues to run.
