Yeah........no . Tanev will be signing for 4.2- 4.8 per season depending on the term

Seems a lot of Bruin fans are none to happy with these deals as it will do little to alleviate their cap squeeze, with still others to sign. Feeling is they will still need to dump a contract.

I can see Tanev getting a five year at 4.5 range. Matthias I think will be shooting for 3.5-4 million and if he gets 20+ goals he will get it somewhere.

I don' think he was playing games with Tanev, I think he really needed to see him play for the season. But ya, getting him locked up last summer seems smart in retrospect.

Two concussions. When will he play again? Trade bait?

Love Tanev...wary of head injuries though.

Well, he didn't need to see Lack play before making the Miller decision. ...perhaps Tanev's camp wanted too much at the time. We just saw Tanev finish playing a 1-year "show me you can do it again" contract w/ Gillis and then Benning had him do it all over. This all comes down to how defensive players don't get the contractual respect of "stats-guys" yet coaches love them. I'm guessing the Tanev camp is going to want to make up some lost $ ground w/ the next contract.

Christ , Edler looks like a steal at 5 million a season . Canucks would be wise to sign Tanev fairly smartly .

Ya, I'd be tempted to do 8 years at 5 million per. Limited NTC when he reaches the right age.

Jesus Joe, don't hold back, tell us what you really think. While you're at it, why not try to create a giant distraction while you're trying to concentrate on getting into the playoffs?

This guy has "future Maple Leaf captain" stamped all over him.

Telling your GM to shut his mouth and to stop lying doesn't sound good! I thought Wilson did a good job of painting Joe in a positive light and discussing the issue. Better he said what he did say than the truth I think Joe.

Yes, he knows exactly where he is right now, but, will he be able to find him in June? That is the question.
