League directive not to announce deals until post SCF.

League usually looks the other way when there are slow news day for the 3 day travel between cities, but on a game day?
A shot across the bow of the SC champs?

Love the moxie here.

Tciso wrote: Tue Jun 18, 2024 9:59 am So, messing around with the line up. Here is a projection. If we kep/replace Myers and Cole for $3.5mil, we are in good shape. Here is my estimate. Sorry if the formatting goes to shit. But, my lineup is only over by $1.5 mil, with 23 players. Demote a couple of 4th liners, and we fit under the cap. I just ignored Poolman, as we will need his LTIR. I also still managed $7mil for Hronek and Lindholm, $5 for Zed, and $3 for Joshua. So, don't get your shit into a media frenzied knot. We could come back with basically the same lineup pretty easily. Now, it's time to make improvements, not just hanging onto what we had.

2 Pettersson, Elias C, LW 25 $11,600,000
1 Miller, J.T. C, LW, RW 31 $8,000,000
1 Boeser, Brock RW 27 $6,650,000
3 Garland, Conor RW, LW 28 $4,950,000
4 Mikheyev, Ilya LW, RW 29 $4,750,000
1 Suter, Pius C, LW 28 $1,600,000
2 Höglander, Nils LW, RW 23 $1,100,000
2 Podkolzin, Vasily RW, LW 22 $1,000,000
S Åman, Nils C 24 $825,000
S Di Giuseppe, Phillip LW 30 $775,000
4 Blueger, Teddy C, LW 29 $1,800,000
3 Joshua, Dakota LW 28 $3,000,000
4 Lafferty, Sam RW, C, LW 29 $1,200,000
3 Lindholm, Elias C, RW 29 $7,000,000

1 Hughes, Quinn "C" LD 24 $7,850,000
2 Soucy, Carson LD/RD 29 $3,250,000
S Juulsen, Noah RD 27 $775,000
1 Hronek, Filip RD 26 $7,000,000
3 New Cole LD/RD 35 $1,000,000
3 New Meyers RD 34 $2,500,000
2 Zadorov, Nikita LD/RD 29 $5,000,000

1 Demko, Thatcher G 28 $5,000,000
2 Silovs, Arturs G 23 $950,000

Ekman-Larsson, Oliver $2,346,667

Total $89,921,667
trying not to get in to a media frenzied knot here, as requested, but sure if you give a 1 million discount to each of Lindholm, Hronek and Zed from what the reports are then you can make it work. I mean I would be on board with the prices you are suggesting but if they aren't signing, they aren't signing.
Hronek signed for $250k more than my estimate. Let's see if the others are close.

should be a shot to the schedulers... who ever heard of so many days off between the games or even the start of the series?

winning the cup is supposed to be a grind, every other damn day, until its won. The extra time takes away from the legend of it.

Same cap hit as Toews. Needs to up his defence a bit to earn it, but good RHD are unicorns so hope he improves. Just hitting is prime years so has potential to be good value.

It's a really good contract.

Tied up to 34/35 at what will be a 3/4 value when the cap hits 100 mill sooner than later.

I imagine Hroneks reps came in at 8x8 or maybe even 8.5x8 so that and considering the NTC/NMC considerations good work at Management level overall on this one....

Agreed. Good value when factoring it all.

Guentzel will be shit at $9.5M if it’s more than 5 years. He will be 31 when the puck drops in October.

As most people I would have Hronek 8 years at 6 M. But realistically that was even close to being reality. So I am happy with this news. South of 7.5 for8 years for a top 4 RHD? What’s not to like.

Gotta think it’s dominos now.

I’d move Petey to Boston for Carlo and the 2025 1st. Keep Lindholm.

Hughes - Carlo
Soucy - Hronek
Dillon - Tanev or Myers

With the original rumour being that he wanted $8M, maybe the market isn’t there right now for huge deals in free agency. So with Hronek coming in $750K below the scuttlebutt, maybe Zadorov comes in $500K less now and a deal gets done?

Now that Hronek is locked up and with the rumours that the Canucks will not be able to re-sign Lindholm the priority for me definitely shifts to Zadorov.

Then:

Myers
Joshua
Blueger
Silovs

Cole if he is still available mid summer I’d swing back to. Lafferty meh. I’d let him go tbh.

To land a big UFA we definitely need to trade the other Russian.

But if we can get both Zadorov and Myers back that would be the start of a very good off season. Big Z at 5 and Myers at 3 is 8. Less that what they combined to make last year.

Rather use that 8m on shorter term deals - Tanev for 5 and Dillon for 3.

Except Toews' contract takes him to age 37.

Hronek's contract only takes him to age 34.

Actually, Guentzel will be 30 when the puck drops in October.

(29 right now)

And he will get 7 years minimum.

There are rumours Canes will do a sign & trade for a draft pick/prospect

... which allows a team to get him with 8 years of term.

(to bring down the AAV)

Canucks are rumoured to be all over that.

$8M x 8?

Gunz would be 37-yrs-old at the end of dat dere.
