Correct....I've seen the WHO probably 10 times the last at GM Place with the Vancouver Symohny Orchestra, i guess that was pre-Covid which was actually pretty good.

That and a couple of others were obviously Geriatric tours but still fun to see them.

Saw the Quadrophenia Tour so was happy about that as well.

Luckily I also saw them when they were "relatively" young.....first time was in LA with the Clash in 1982 which was the end of the Kenny Jones era.

I was still a punk at that point in time.

My favourite performing rock band of all time.

Townshend my favourite on stage lead guitar player....NOT favourite guitarist to be clear...of all time as well.

Saw them once at the Coliseum - back in the early 80's when they did the 'lottery' for tickets. Wasn't overly impressed.

I mostly lost interest in them post-Moon.

The Who/Clash tour - saw that in Seattle and left after the Clash.

Interesting....completely opposite of my experience.

...and that of my idiot friend group.

To each his own.

When they announced that one lotto back in the day and didn't name the band I had myself into the Sex Pistols showing up....

My experience with that first show was in the upper bowl, and I felt I was watching the same moves I'd seen so many times before - the Who have GREAT songs - but I felt it was all a little too 'prepared'.

Like you - that was in the great days of punk when shows were plentiful. Going to punk gigs and having the fun and unexpected surrounding you in small venues, I don't really remember many arena acts from those days standing out to me.

One of my friends saw the Who in his teens and became a drummer the next day, thanks to Moon. :D

Yeah....the small venue punk scenario is a great point.

I completely get it.

I've always tried/try to get as close as possible to feel the energy.

Maybe partially as a byproduct of having Jello Biafra, Keithley or Art Bergmann screaming in my face, never crossed my mind before.

I'm at that point now where in smaller venues with reserved seating - I'm in the first couple of rows. Arena shows, usually the first 20 (or GA preferably)

Of course - the number of shows I go to these days is low. :(

First release from Erik Grönwall’s upcoming solo album. He has earlier fronted the bands H.E.A.T. and Skid Row.
He quit, because touring took too much of a toll on his health; he has battled leukemia and had a bone marrow transplant before joining Skid Row. He toured with them for two years before deciding in 2024 he had to start focusing on his health. Since then he has mostly released covers online, but has now written original material and is releasing his first solo album.

I assume the title of this song is a tongue in cheek reference to his health problems.
