I'm heading up to your neck of the woods tomorrow (to Alix). Visiting an old friend of mine up there.

..10 minutes away from Alix . It's the geographical center of the Canadian far right wing movement. Dude is like the Canadian Ted Nugent

Well, I'm not that far from Alix - it's less than an hour's drive from here, so the weather is about the same. Secondly, it is winter so it isn't exactly shorts and T-shirt weather here in Alberta. As long as it's above -20 deg C, I don't find it cold. Also, I won't be there tomorrow night - I'm going up there in the afternoon and it will be a lot warmer than that.

The NHL and NHLPA will discuss the possibility of increasing the salary cap by between $7 million and $9 million for the 2025-26 season, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reported on Hockey Night in Canada's "Saturday Headlines."

The salary cap can rise a maximum of 5% each year under current CBA rules but can increase by a larger margin if agreed upon by both parties. A $95-million to $97-million salary cap would represent an 8% to 10.2% jump.

League revenue has outpaced guardrails put in place as part of the NHL and NHLPA's salary cap agreement during the COVID-19 pandemic, according to Friedman.

I thought they were going to just do the 5% for one more year.

(last year of that 5% thing)

I thought the cap explosion wouldn't happen until the following year.

I did mention the possibility of them negotiating something like this, but called it unlikely.

Even with the huge jump next year, there should be increases every year moving forward.

I mean, as long as there's no bird flu pandemic...

Speaking of which where did Monkey Pox disappear to?

I'm thinking we're solid for at least 4 years Doc.

Oh, and by the way, this ties right into the "State of the Game" conversation that recently died on the vine.

I didn’t think the hit was as obviously dirty as Jeannot on Boeser. But it was a reckless and poorly timed hit. Appropriate (and expected) given the history of the player. I would have been OK with 3 games.

The extra 2 games are to satisfy the BLM crowd… :look:
