Forget if I posted this, but some edm fans on hf were ok with a Baertschi for Puljujarvi + Manning(cap dump), namely they are looking for a legit top 9 scorer.micky107 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 02, 2019 3:51 pmGood idea. Don't know how long Jesse will be out for after his hip surgeries.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

Baertschi over Stecher, please. We Need Stecher on D a lot more than we need Baertschi. And, PoolParty still has "Bust" written all over him. Stecher might be expendable in a few years, but he's slotted in this year to play 40+ games in our top 4 on Defense (injuries assumed). Baertschi is just one of a handful fighting for a spot anywhere from the 1st line, to the 3rd line, but is pretty much a lock to be on Edmonton's 2nd line. Throw in his concussions, and I think the value is just about bang on for a prospect that is sputtering.

I saw some flashes of brilliance and his high pedigree and age say theres still something there. I'd say TS is an acceptable risk given our depth and that edmonton wont just give him away. Baertchi is giving him away

The other option is to let some other team send Deadmonton a big pile of steaming crap in exchange for PoolParty, and potentially, giving them some more cap hell at the same time. Yeah, I kinda have a low opinion of the town, the team, and the management. But I am OK with that.Uncle dans leg wrote: ↑Fri Aug 02, 2019 5:43 pmTrue but sometimes you gotta stick your neck out a tad.Tciso wrote: ↑Fri Aug 02, 2019 5:37 pmBaertschi over Stecher, please. Yah, the rights to Goldobin is about as much as I’d give. I doubt Poolparty would crack our roster either, so he would end up on waivers anyway, same as Goldobin will if he signs. And the bonus is Goldobin might just crack Edmonton’s line-up, which is good for the Canucks as he provides little offence and is a black hole defensively, making the Oilers easier to beat. Do not send Baertschi to Edmonton. If he is over his concussions he has legit top nine skill and could help Edmonton challenge for the playoffs. Why make the Canuck’s job harder. If healthy Baertschi is a good candidate to play on the Canucks second line with Bo and Pearson. I still think Goldobin most likely ends up in the KHL this season, which is fine by me. Poolparty has slightly more upside than Goldobin, but if he couldn’t help Edmonton on the wing considering their lack of winger depth, is he really going to win a job at camp on the Canucks? Whatever pedigree he once had as a top pick has worn off at this point and he looks most likely to just be a bust.

Sounds like Jesse Puljujärvi is looking almost for a guaranteed position on a team.
If he was willing to work his ass off to get one, I would give him a shot.
Any roster player traded to "them" could would come back to haunt.
Something from the farm maybe. An older maybe. Maybe a 6th round pick in 2024.
Seriously though. He may well succeed with a fresh start. Geez that sounds so forummy.
He's probably learned to give a fuck about his game and attitude or no making a living on hockey.

if he's coming off hip surgery chances are he's not going to have much of a season anyways. Coilers should let him rehab in Finland and reassess things in 2020.
We'll burn that bridge when we get to it

The poor Oilers have had so many gift wrapped golden opportunities to be better
- instead of Griffin Reinhart, one of Boeser, Barzal, Connor or Chabot

The Canucks don’t need any reclamation projects if they are trying to make the playoffs. Sending players like Poolparty and Goldobin to teams like Ottawa where they are already likely missing the playoffs would be best for those players to get some ice time and let Ottawa try to develop them into a diamond in the rough.

Yes I’m done with the reclamation projects, they never work. GMs tend to have a blind love for some players.Cherry Picker wrote: ↑Sat Aug 03, 2019 10:03 am The Canucks don’t need any reclamation projects if they are trying to make the playoffs.
