I pondered it too. We take on an extra million of cap, but we get our goalie. And, Vegas gets a shutdown 4th liner. Over-all, it kinda works. But it's not a great deal for either team. Still, getting rid of Loui frees up $6, and a back-up was going to be $2-3. So, this does save us some cap space.

I’d agree with this if we had more quality forwards. Right now, Virtanen, Toffoli and Leivo are all question marks for various reasons next year.

Sure, his ceiling is high, but for all we know he could be the next Brian Boucher. Incredible shutout streak, but basically a perennial backup.

And so the longer the Markstrom contract drags out the longer we wait for the dominos to fall on everything else? I’m off the mark on this?
