I've got it. We've been looking to get rid of Eriksson for awhile now and the team we just played may have presented us an opportunity. Sounds like Vegas is keen on re-signing Lehner to a long-term deal
L.Eriksson
for
M.A. Fleury
It'll be tuff to move on from Marky, but we gotta do what we got to do. A tandem of Fleury & Demko is not bad, whoever is hot will play. Fleury may have to waive any no movement clauses he may have, we'll have to expose him in the xpansion draft.

That's a million more for two years. I understand the angst in re to more campaigns with Louis but it'd probably be better just to call Tonya.

It's a million more for 2 years.....but it's almost a sure thing that Seattle would select MAF if he was exposed.
It's also a million more than what we think we should max out at on Marksrtom.....and Markstrom's agent might show up seeking $8M in hopes of landing in the $7M range. I'd rather have MAF for 2 years at $7M than Markstrom for 5 years at $6.5M.

If I'm not mistaken, Hoglander struggled this season and wasnt dominant or anything in the SHL. Doubtful he will walk into an NHL top 6 job just quite yet
I agree. I'm not sure he is ready yet. Needs to prove himself in the SHL first, imho. But there is room for that...
The SHL starts on Sep 19th, and Höglander will stay on with his current team until he has to report to the Canucks in December, and they have 21 games scheduled up till Nov 28th. Not sure the exact date he needs to be in Vancouver. There is another game on Dec1st.

I’ve mentioned this before, put Miller at centre and go with a top 9. Most the league has adapted the top 9 model.
The future
Hoglander Petey Podkolzin
Virtanen Miller Lind
Xxxxxxx Horvat Boeser
Motte Gaudette MacEwan
Lockwood
Do you really see Horvat and a $7 million re-signed Boeser on the 3rd line? Miller is the best winger they have and if healthy, I actually think he can produce even more next year. I wouldn't mess with that. That's putting a lot of faith in Virtanen too.
Other than Motte, who kills penalties?
The Chef has Hoglander on the first line and Horvat and Boeser on the third line. Makes perfect sense eh? Takes our best left winger and makes him a second line centre when he’s played most of his career on the wing. Virtanen who he wants to run out of town, he has him playing left wing which he never does and Lind plays on a higher line than Boeser. Keep in mind Curmudgeon, that the Chef hates Bo Horvat almost as much as he hates Mike Gillis or Ken Holland.

Yeah I don't get that lineup. Why the hate on Horvat?

I’m guessing chef means those 3 lines are playing equal minutes. Thus 3 first lines not “duh horvats not a third line center” like Doyle is making it out to sound like.

“And the Detroit Red Wings select Filip Zadina” - Kenny Holland
“And the Edmonton Oilers select Broberg” - Kenny Holland
I liked Benning's interview after the pick when he appeared legitimately happy for the fans. He knew how good and entertaining Hughes was as a player even if the vast majority of the fanbase didn't.
To get Hughes and Pettersson in back to back drafts picking 7th and 5th is incredible and it completely changed the team's trajectory, probably saving Jimbo's job too.

Maybe so but the player alignment just ain't right.
