Josh Norris fits the profile better as a Baldy target in my opinion.
Hughes best friend factor played into why they targeted Norris. I also think Norris is a better player than Cozens but unfortunately he is very injury prone. Cozens would’ve be available if he wasn’t playing so shitty for two seasons now. I doubt Cozens recovers. It’s a sad off between him and Norris - one player is injury prone and one player isn’t meeting his lofty expectations from when he was drafted. You pick Norris because of the Hughes connection, the Norris interest was more about Hughes and resigning him.
I think both things are true Chef.

Norris is Hughes' buddy, and the Baldies don't like Canadian players.

Yep they've shipped a gaggle of good Canadian players since they've been . Like really good players. The kind of guys you build teams around.

These Baldies are anti Canadian. [MOD EDIT: No politics in this forum]

They wont need 11 wins to get throatpumped by Winnipeg.

Despite what the urine crew thinks, playoffs would he good for a lot of the players.

Don't know. Don't care. Its been a while since we've had a decent core of Canadian players. Ther than Horvat who they pivoted to get a top end D man, who are these Canadians they've cut loose or jot drafted that move the needle? Missing Carson Soucy or Desharnais? Did your boi Elmer leave a pile of great Canadians in the system and the Baldies ran them all out of town. Myers identifies as a Canadian. Hughes played most of his minor hockey in Toronto.

I'm the most loyal Canadian fan here. The worm will turn eventually and we will get some more homegrown players. There was a diaper fire here when they got rid of an American. Is there better players they missed after Lekkerimäki and Wilander? I don't see a bias. Not yet.

We seem to have had an 8/10 Cananian American split in 2023 Blob. You can believe this is coincidence if you want to but I'm not buying that. I think there has to be some intention there for it to be this out of whack with the average.

And nationality aside, this is the softest, least together group I have ever seen in this city. I'm really unhappy with things as they stand.

And yes, Jim Benning is a fucking idiot lol. Doesn't make these guys geniuses.

That's a bold statement. One I think a few might disagree with.

I am a very patriotic Canadian, this inherent fault of mine may have led to my banishment from a few threads. Regarding Hockey Canada, my recent criticisms should be viewed as “tough love”. I believe my criticism of the whole organization has some legitimacy to it. It needs to be overhauled, big time, at the executive level. The fuckers got way to fat and lazy resting on past successes while other countries have caught up through progressive and innovative development programs in which some believe have surpassed Canada.

Sure, in impact.

But the shot looks to me to be very good and his hands are excellent. The Sea of Gradlund's didn't have this. (Well, Baerstchi had pretty good mitts).
None of that matters much if he can't find a way to make space or extend possession. But if he can, he has weapons lacking on most of the team which are must needed. Part of why he can't is this is his first North American season and he's adjusting to fast pace and smaller ice; part of it is that he is a toothpick. Time and age and training all can and should be expected to positively contribute.

No writing off; still has a high ceiling (and a crash and burn floor).

Chytil also has a different head related issue he's been managing his whole career outside of his concussions apparently

It has not been made public in New York but is something of a concern. Could be as minor as migraines but that's a guess
