So, yeah, it’s actually frustrating that nothing’s got done.
Hey Brock! Imagine how we feel!

You're on pace for maybe 55 points this season? Which is about par for the course for you. I'm guessing you're wanting a big pay day based on last year's one-off 40 goal season? Good luck with that.
Agreed. He is a 6 million dollar player. Take the late first and B prospect and move him along. Thats a couple times he's beaked off about a lack of an extension. He may socre 30 - 40 with line mates that feed him the puck with gravy icetime. If you want out GTFO. Trade Quinn for a fucking haul to Devils at the draft. Hischier, Nemec and a 1st and a 2nd. Trade Peter to Buffalo for Cozens and Byram. Burn it down a bit. The ass end is solid.

The ass end is solid with Quinn. You trade him ONLY if he is not extending here.

Holy fuck. 1 point out of a playoff spot on a year where there have been more injuries to top 5 players than in recent memory (we have about 10 games when we were playing with a 55-60 million dollar payroll) and the fans want to burn it down.
Jesus you guys need to take a few uppers

There seems to be a percentage of us smoking some bad shit
I will say they're pretty boring to watch of late but before the break they were playing some good hockey. I dunno but that's about all we got these days so why not enjoy the ride?
It'll make for one hell of a party once we do finally win a championship (one of these decades)

It will be interesting to see if those few games turn into something, or were just a flash in the pan. I think when Hughes is back, it will calm everyone down, and they should get back to that style.

The thing is, unless there's some gold in the talent pipeline that I don't know about, or management parlays the cap space they've carved into exactly the right trade and/or free agent signing, last year was the peak -- and that's assuming that both Demko and Pettersson can overcome whatever has been holding them back and regain top form for a playoff run.
So if the team is ever going to do more than win a round or two, something fairly fundamental has to change to springboard them to new heights. The easiest way to imagine that is through trading some peaked assets for players or picks with the potential to surprise to the upside.

But when you trade peaked assets for players or picks (especially for picks) it’s the start of regression. Demko has a niggling injury that simply needs time, and Petey is playing through something as well. A full off season of training will do both wonders. Selling those assets now (low) is the start of a rebuild. This fan base needs patience, but just absolutely feeds (and wallows in) on its own negativity.

The team has been competitive all season. Boring as it may be, Tocchet has them positioned to make the playoffs despite all the bullshit two members of the core have put the team through.
Miller is gone.
Now is the time to remove the remaining tumour that is holding this club back from succeeding.

Yeah they have to remove the second dripdick from the situation unless he suddenly figures it out in the next 24 games. Thing is they need another center coming back. So if they can make a solid deal between now and the deadline, do it. And unless he lights it up, he has to go before July 1. I'd kinda prefer selfishly that they do trade him. It would clean this place up a bit if nothing else.

If you had the choice between surgically removing your cancer next week or pray that delaying until next summer it magically goes away, what are your best odds of long-term success?
Management can’t truly assess what this team is made of until it’s completely removed all distractions. Only half-way there.
Big picture is priority. If deleting Pettersson from the equation now also improves the team’s chances of making the playoffs, which it undoubtedly will, win-win.

Sounds like D Noah Juulsen's season is over, surgery this week on his hernia.

Tocchet must be devastated.
