I don’t know which is more exciting, today’s four nation final, or tomorrow’s Trader Jim Friday night yips.
I guess Trader Jim satisfied his yips this morning by way overpaying for a backup.
The Canucks would be battling for a lottery pick without him. Except for term his comp comes in right around where it should be. Not much to bitch about, but hey we are Canucks fans, it's what we do.

Heard on the new that Canucks extended Lankinen for 5 years but nothing on $$.

5 seems long depending on the amount.

Confirmed $4.5/year.
I was off by .5 but nailed the term. I had $5 x 5.

A very fair contract.

This is good value for the Canucks, So long as they don’t turn around and extend Demko to $7Mx 4.

Depending on how Demko finishes this season and plays next year he could find himself on a short show me deal.

Per Canucks coach Rick Tocchet, C Elias Pettersson's status is day-to-day w injury from 4 Nations, and it doesn't appear Quinn Hughes will be ready to play SAT vs VGK. Both Pettersson and Hughes left the ice shortly after today's practice began.

The types of injuries Demko is experiencing, along with what's likely happening in his head about them should not align with the team's long term plans. I'd prefer to move on unless HW is correct and he signs a ridiculous low ball contract.

Didn’t we get him from Florida in the Luongo trade?

It was time for the D in Abby to get a chance over him.
Canucks D is looking much better these days, and with Willander on his way he probably wouldn’t get a chance again unless there were a ton of injuries. Liked his physical play, but it was too hard for him to make a good first pass, and he got caved in crunch time.
Good luck in Florida.
