Smart money is on keeping Mancini as he is a righty and let Junior have 20 minutes a night in Abbotsford. Willander needs some development time.

Sasson is our Bluegar replacement next year. Raty has the third line for now.

Tonight I would have all 4 centres playing, Pettersson, Chytle, Raty, Bluegar.

All the regular starters on wing. I’d let Bains and Karlsson have a go.

I think the Canucks will have D Petey, Mancini and Forbert platoon as the 3rd pairing D this season.

Friday AM skate Canucks lines :

DeBrusk. EP40. Boeser.
Bains. Chytil. Garland.
O’Connor. Blueger. Sherwood.
Kane. Cootes. Lekkerimäki.
Räty. Sasson. Karlsson.

D pairs rotating, but the seven d-men are Hughes, Hronek, MP29, Myers, EP25, Mancini and Willander.

With continued growth and development in mind both DPete and Mancini need to play imo.

Agreed. Junior showed last season he was ready but I think Mancini is too and he is a righty. If it comes down to one of them to start the season my vote goes to Mancini. Injuries will happen soon enough so Junior will get the call. Willander can stay the whole season in Abbotsford with perhaps a call up or two along the way.

The real battle will be up front.

I actually find myself a trifle stoked to see what breaks out of the gate this year.

Doing something improvement wise up front in the short term would likely peak my interest even more.

I'd like to see them keep all 3. Willander in Abby, and d-petey & Mancini with the big club.
We know top 6 is going to be a concern this season, but for the long term, keeping this newfound defense depth would be the wise move IMHO.
