Doc my friend, you kept me in line at a time when I was madly trying to expose the farce that Gillis was, and man was he ever a farce. It was during this era where Blobbee coined the term - Urine Crew. The Dude has always keyed on drafting and developing.
During the entire Gillis era Dude was suffering from GMMG's ineptitude in that area.
He complained constantly about it and in fact the usually supercool Dude was becoming very grumpy indeed.
Most here didn't care about that stuff in that era because Canucks were a contender and we just wanted a Cup.
So we were constantly telling El Duderino to just settle the fuck down.

Stop defending Gillis. His evil fingerprints have been all over this new regimes tumultuous journey in trying to get this team back to respectability. Gillis had this team in such a bad place when Jimbro took over that most sane minded hockey fans viewed as a 6-7 year turnaround.
