The leaves started their rebuild 5 years after Edmonton and beat them bad this week.

... and then beaten by Canucks without their top 2 d-men. :mex:

And the price to trade for a good goalie is very low.
So Andersen is a "good backup or 1B goalie".... who is getting 5 X $5M ??

A 1st round pick + a 2nd round pick was "a low price" for a "good backup or 1B goalie"??

Leaves are still in need of a 'goaltender for the future'...
The point is that's what the role was on their team and they became solid #1 goalies.
Lol yeahno, Andersen is not a "solid #1 goalie".

My point was that you said the Leaves picked up a "good backup or 1B goalie"

... your words...

and immediately gave him 5 X $5M.

My other point was that you said a 1st + 2nd is a "low price" for a "good backup or 1B goalie".

Like I say, Leaves are still in need of a 'goaltender for the future'...

Did Tuna say the leaves are two years away from being a cup contender? LMAO, with that defence? With that goaltending.

Apparently Babcock isn't too happy with Reilly's game, in not so many words he basically says Reilly needs to stop running around the ice with his head cut off. Your so called best defenceman. Dermott and Neilsen "years away!" Dougie Hamilton will save the day! LOL

Another goal by the leading Calder cup winner - Laine

Since November 1st Andersen has easily been a top 10 goalie. But he's no good, right? 5 million places him 18th in goalie salaries. He had better numbers than that last season.
You do not need to spend 8-10 million on a goalie in today's NHL. Carey Price is by far the best, and he's never been to a finals.

Fuck I have a screamer of a headache this morning. Four Christmas parties in three days. I can't do this shit anymore, feels like someone beat my head in. Is this how the Indians on Hastings feel like in the morning ? I have enough booze in me to sink a ship. Just fetched my truck after a three hour nap.

LEEFS SUCK .

They're learning he is. He's losing his starting job to Bernier. LOL.

You know, Tuna. As a non bias hockey fan, I can see that the leaves really need defensive help.
It doesn't matter how many goals Austin Mathews scores, they won't make the playoffs any time soon.
It would be advisable to trade him for a solid NHL defenseman like Edler or Tanev.
Mathews will just end up in the abyss of frustration that goes with a non contending team and his career will deteriorate into the "what could have been" category.
A trade for Edler or maybe Tanev, (if you throw in a 2nd), makes sense to me.

By the way: Before 1970, when I was just a wee boy, my parents were Leaf fans.
Not me. I liked Montreal. Go figure?

Erikkson is so useless. He use to be so good offensive AND defensively. What happened? Only 5 years left on his deal...
What were the Canucks thinking? No one is going to ever take that contract.

And BTW, those comments yesterday during the Q&A session with Linden was TERRIFYING. He can't rebuild because he can't hurt the feeling of the twins. Oye! I see more Eriksson contracts coming! You can't rebuild and try to win by signing horrible contracts at the same time. It NEVER works.

Ssssshhh, don't say anything about that, he's falling for the same false promises the Oilers fell for in the Hall. Eberle, Yakupov, Hopkins, Draisatl, no defence, shite goaltending era.'Tuna will realize soon you just don't win with a few fancy dipsey doodler forwards and a crap defence. It will be fun to watch this over the next while

Oilers look pretty good right now, no? And Talbot is a fine #1. Same as Andersen.

And I love how you guys ignore my posts about Eriksson. And good lord, were those comments from Linden scary or what?

Trevor Linden"

"We have Daniel and Henrik Sedin here, who are very important to this organization and icons in the city. They’re not going anywhere. I don’t know how I walk into the room and tell these guys, “Strip it down.” I’m not sure it’s fair to these guys. There’s different circumstances, be it in Toronto or Carolina or Vancouver, that require different routes"

I'd be so terrified if I had Brendan Shanahan making crazy comments like that. Oh don't rebuild because we may hurt the Sedins feelings. Jesus...

And you guys feel you have some great future? The Eriksson's signings will continue!

This is an all leaves thread. We talk about our players, coaches etc in other threads. But so you know. Opinions on Louie are very mixed in nuckland. The transition plan also has mixed reviews. See most here dont guzzle the kook aid. Some drink more than others, some a lot lot less, but we don't guzzle.

Andersen is a number one goalie. He is so because the cock tells us so. Great in shoot outs isn't he?
The only HW the Canucks need
