Did you see the bench during the anthems?
All but one looked like they had their soul ripped out.
...a group of guys that have been playing their entire lives with the goal of a Stanley Cup.
A Petunia takes advantage of his 26 y/o versus 31 y/o status (justification) and his episodes result in a battle hardened vet who led the team in the bubble, has been, for the most part, the guts of this team for 6 years and signed a club friendly deal to help us compete gets summarily launched for a less than stellar return.
It better fucking be that Miller was toxic because if not y'all just hitched your wagon to a mind game playing buttercup for the next 8 years.
If Scooter doesn't start lighting it up, who is next to start biting his ass, Garland?
I wonder if Garland didn't think much of Miller either.
Forgot Van tried to trade Miller to the Pens, but their ownership pulled the plug.
Garland had asked for a trade earlier. Wonder if there is a connection there?
There probably was a connection JPP. That's a fight Miller might actually win.

Oh, c'mon. No need to justify it with absolutely unsubstantiated, made-up opinions.
Garland made news for the same reason... not performing up to his lofty new contract, paid like top 6 but struggling on the 3rd line. Then suddenly, his play justified him staying. Just as Brock's name was quieted in the rumour mills.
Last season was remarkable for just about everyone on the team. They did end up with more wins than any Canuck team in history, right?
Drama-free. Everyone could hold each other accountable and speak honestly. What happened? Look no further than post-ASG performance.

Hextall tried to get Miller. Was nixed by ASG. Lots of sources on that.
I was just wondering if Mgmt. saw their mistake and tried a few times to get out from it.

Ghee, that doesn't sound very good.
A calamity of epic proportions
Can you clarify this for me?
Your reply is margarine-ly butter than the so-called Chef's.
Okay that's enough Carl

When other GMs call, you always listen. That's what all GMs say.
Hextall coveted a player like Miller. He called. Baldies answered. Probably talked some scenarios and even other trade possibilities of other players. GMs aren't doing their jobs if they don't constantly make and receive calls.
What mistake?
They also said they entertained trading Pettersson and media even said they probably had discussion with other teams before signing him to the new contract. Carolina was one of those teams.
They have also had talks regarding Pettersson this season, most noticeably with Carolina again until they went with Rantanen. Was this signing also a mistake they were trying to get out from under? Possible? Because honestly, he is still trade bait at this point... especially if the team continues to lose and drop out of the wildcard.

How many picks has he got back needs to be part of the analytical study.
Dude may be right but he's only telling half a story.

MIstake was signing Miller knowing there were issues surrounding him in the dressing room.
So you are saying it's not so unsubstantiated then?
Huh.

Good teammate. Probably best in the room.
Likely would have acted/said the same thing if Petey was traded.

What issues were there in the dressing room when they re-signed him? Can YOU substantiate those issues? With FACTS?
Huh?
They played almost 5 years together at that point... on something called 6/49... without issues. Both thrived.
They chose him over Bo because the ex-captain wanted more $$ than what they wanted to offer for a career 2nd line scoring center. All those years of mediocrity, did Bo elevate this team to playoffs? Maybe if you want to add Covid bubble as a legitimate playoffs. Sure, then.
Bo and him sat next to each other right up until he was traded to NYI. Do you do that if the friction was as bad as the media suggests?
GMs call and GMs listen. They discuss possibilities, usually about how they would like to improve their team. Peter was and is still on the trade block now... is it because there are known issues in the room? Or maybe management is always looking to improve the team, as they should be.
Fuck, give Myers the Oscar right now. Bloody amazing acting.

JT Miller averaged 95 points for us over the previous 3 seasons and was over a point a game player during his tenure here.
(..he and Pavel Bure are the only Canucks ever to get traded having done so....)
Elias Petterson game 1 post winning "the internal battle":
1 meaningless assist in a 4 - 1 game
-2
10/24 in the circle
We have our current day Gradin, Linden, Naslund in place...hoo rah.
....step your game up boy.

Tocchet's post-game sure isn't a ringing endorsement of this trade and the decision to go with management.
Heart and soul guy.
This just reeks of bad management.
