I listened in on the coiler radio and the Bakersfield coaching staff said the AHL book on Silovs was he struggles with screens and shots from distance. Precisely how they got to him

I wouldn't be planning the future on him as a #1 until he removes this weakness for at least a couple of seasons

His trade value might be the at peak value right now even. It wouldn't surprise me if Mr Burns and Smithers use him in a trade

That would not surprise me either. That other guy outplayed him in Abbotsford and our 3rd goalie there was pretty good.
The only HW the Canucks need

He's 23. Goalies seldom peak before 26.
I'd use him as a cheap backup, have more money to spend elsewhere.

Silovs looks good in tight, but he struggles with shots from distance and tips. Would hate to give up on him this early and see him blossom elsewhere. Let Clark work the Cloutier out of his game as a back-up for a couple seasons and see what he becomes. Then, when Demko’s contract is nearly up for renewal, they can make a decision on who to go forward with.

Exactly.

Sign Silovs for $1 mil per for the next 2 years. He looks good after this upcoming season re-up him for a longer term deal and move Demko.
