1957-58 Vancouver Canucks. The Canucks were both regular-season and Patrick Cup playoff champions this year. They defeated the Calgary Stampeders 4 games to 0 in the finals. Standouts included Marcel Pelletier in goal; forwards Orland Kurtenbach, Phil Maloney, and Jack McLeod; and d-man Hugh Currie. Kurtenbach would later star for the Canucks when they entered the NHL in 1970.

That's Adam Keller on the cover of this great '62-63 Canucks program. Of course Adam is proudly wearing the vintage early sixties sweater with the Johnny Canuck crest.

Here are the 1952-53 Vancouver Canucks. Hall of Famer Emile “Cat” Francis is the goalie on the far left. Larry Popein (fourth from left) played several seasons for the Canucks, and also spent many years in the NHL with the NY Rangers. Larry also went on to coach in both the WHL and CHL. President and GM Coley Hall was still with the Canucks NHL organization in the early seventies.

The '53-54 edition of the Hall/Chapman Canucks failed to repeat as champions, finishing first but losing in six games in the final to the Calgary Stampeders. That's the great Gump Worsley far left, Allan Stanley far right.

Poor Reid Boucher seems to be walking into a disaster over in Russia.
Rick Dhaliwal
@DhaliwalSports
Hearing up to 20 players infected with Co-vid 19 in Avangard Omsk in KHL, that is Reid Boucher's team.
Boucher has not arrived in Russia yet.
Most of the team is being quarantined right now.

Surely though, this is before your time? You weren't watching hockey in the 50s/early 60s?

'63-64 would have actually been the first season I really got into hockey I guess.
The fifties were before my time though, I was born in Dec '57.
