As long as this team is near the top in team shooting percentage and decent on the PP, you'll subconsciously forget how truly bad it is.

I thought they were the slowest team.
League leaders in multiple categories, awesome!
Second fewest Canadian players too.

On a positive note, Debrusk baby seems to have flipped the streak switch to 'ON'.
Hopefully, he'll be granted the separation he wants soon without another referendum.

Will anyone be posting?
If the Canucks win a game and there are no reprobates in the forum, is it still a win?
This place is dead.

Thank goodness we drafted Klimovich instead of this western kid Stankoven.
Solid work theman, you may not get a break for a while it would seem.

Tuned into the online radio for the last bit - and caught the last 2 goals.
Seems theman is setting the bar high with this streak.
And Rats was 1/2 way there!

Epic failures.
How long can Sweet FA handle this?
How tarnished will Manny be for future coaching opportunities?
How happy is Evan Gold?

Shot count be damned, they were in the game until Carolina flexed in the third and pulled away. Losses aren't fun, and they have to be taking a toll the way the road trip went. At least they're not losing the game and looking out of it before the 1st intermission like last year.
If it lands the team DuPont in June, I can live with these games. If it doesn't (more likely)... not so much but better than this time last year.
Or is it a matter of same shit, but the fans are using a different frame around it?

Consolation Prize:
Merilainen out-performed his opposite number to earn the game's troisième étoile.
TFGs may have picked up a future core member or high value trade chip for zero resources.

Being in the game on the scoreboard isn't the same as being competitive on the ice.
So far, this team has been living off lucky shots, shooter's luck, bad turnovers by the opponents and counter-strikes.
Mustering a paltry 17 shots against the champs the entire game, they got 3 goals out of the first 11 shots.
The quantity and quality of chances haven't been there, which is to be expected from a rebuilding young team. But it's been smoke and mirrors, imo.
After this game, we jumped from 5th in shooting% to 2nd, while our winning% plummets to .227, the worst in the league. All of the other teams in the top 10 in shooting% are over .500
This is unsustainable. It might get worse once Debrusk and other vets start calling their agents.

If TFGs are doing their jobs, they have already set up an auction (with a bidding floor) for DeBrusk, and have told him that the better he plays, the more they can get for him, so the sooner he can leave.
