I've decided to not expect anything this year and just enjoy hockey and the Canucks for what they are. Whatever that turns out to be. I've come close to giving up and changing teams many times but I just can't do it.
Enjoy the season.
Nice to meet you.. 👍🏻

To set the tone, on a scale of 1 - 10, (one being zero, ten being all of it), how much do you hate Messier?

47% 2nd or 3rd round eh?

We will take the 3 "all the ways" as false bravado.

I admire the early season confidence.

I give our guys a 50/50 chance to make the playoffs. Everything went wrong for us last seasons, but we only missed the playoffs by like 8 pts. Find a couple more wins and a few pts here and there and we would have made it. I think I'll be optimistic.

Right now, I don't think we're as good as the 2024 team, but we're working in a few younger players who could make impact. I think we have good depth at just about every position: wings, D and goaltending, but missing that solid 2C/1B C. It's no doubt that our mgmt team will continue to work on this and monitor the situation/market throughout the course of the season. If we can find that guy and some of our key players can stay healthy and have bounce back years, then our team might become a legitimate dark horse contender and surprise a lot of ppl. :D

Win some O/T games would go along way to regaining those 8 points.

I don't know of a reason why these Canucks couldn't be a good overtime team.

I think most teams would outgun them in the shoot-out, though. Yes, [any version of this team that will have any hope at all of a playoff run] will have great goaltending, but I think that more of the strength of Demko's game revolves around reading the play than amazing quickness, and the less structured nature of 4-on-4 overtime doesn't play to that strength.

The reason the Canucks will be good this season is they can kill penalties. Their defence isn’t the crap it was at the start of last season. That will be the difference this year, and why they’re a lock to win the Pacific - Book it!
