Island Nucklehead always preferred the Presidents Trophy. Why stop at playoff No Show - Nylander? Get Ehlers and his 0 goals 21 playoff games as well
Nylanders cap hit for the next 5 years is $7 Million. Ouch! Big Ouch!!
We will appreciate Virtanens valued contract when Pettersson, Boeser and Hughes sign their next contracts. Not only that Virtanen most likely will deliver more in the mean something season than the two post season perimeter softies - Ehlers and Nylander

You'd have to go back to Virtanen's disastrous 2016 WJC performance to see him in "mean something" games. Not a great record.

Jake improved quite a bit during that tourney....and then boneheaded it in the final game. Returning to Vancouver, his play continued to improve that season.

Nylander scores 20 or 22 goals in a first line role with Matthews.
Without an elite center, I do believe he reverts to a 45-point winger. If he spends all year with Tavares or Matthews, he may hit 60 points again.
Sven Baertschi produces at a 60-point pace playing with Bo, Pearson and Roussel produced at 45-50 point paces playing with Bo.
My opinion is lots of teams have multiple wingers who produce in that 45-60 point range when getting prime minutes. Canucks have 3 (though if looking at goal pace, you should include Virtanen). Probably the one exception is Edmonton, who have the worst wingers in the league with the best centers. Also Anaheim, Rangers, Minnesota, LA - basically, just the basement teams.
So the trade market is the basement teams, and they all have cap problems. That will affect the value - probably to the extent that Dubas doesn't trade Willie, because the offers will be so bad.

So Nylander's cap hit is terrible for a 23 year old who has 149 points over the past 3 seasons in 217 games, yet your boy Jimbo, whom I've never heard you say anything bad about, signed Loui Eriksson who has 76 points in 196 games over the past 3 seasons to a cap hit that's very similar. Nylander is 23, Loui is 33. I know who I'd take between the two. Can you admit your boy Jimbo made a mistake on this one? I don't even like Nylander but he's far from an albatross and would return good value if the leaves trade him.
As for playoff performance, would be nice to be able to debate whose performance was good or bad like this on the Nucks, but unfortunately that hasn't been possible the past few years. Hopefully it is next year - I'm not holding my breath on it happening.

Nylander would be a good addition to the team, other than the cap. It throws off the structure Benning is trying to build. You bring him in and that inflates everyone else. Nylander may very well grow into his cap. He is very tradeable and I am on the fence about it.
