The book on JT has always been that he is a passionate, emotional leader. He makes no apology for it. It is how he has to play the game to be at his best. And we have seen how dominate he can be when he is at his best. Who knows who he rubs the wrong way on the team. I doubt it is just Pettersson. But there are a lot of passionate emotional leaders in the game.

I agree about there likely being a few guys that are “done with him”.
We know it’s not DeBrusk based upon his comments this week. He came to Van because he wanted to play with Miller and Pettersson…..that was part of the talks with his agent…..and he still wants to play with them.
I doubt it’s Hughes. He has recently talked about the friend and mentor that JT has been for him since his rookie year.
I also doubt it’s Brock or Garland.
After those names, everyone else is expendable if the need arises.

I’d settle for Cozens, Byram, a prospect and a 2nd in exchange for Pettersson + lesser prospect and a pick south of 4th round. For me that’s not a grand slam, but it’s a homerun if it also solves whatever chemistry issues there are on the team.

Biz is a bit much. The best part of that podcast is RA is gone. Keith Yandle is easily the best of the three and the other two shout over top of him. Its like Rick Dhaliwahl screaming like a tanned Don Cherry bith an accent over top of Don Taylor. Ill give DT props. He is cut out for the podcasts. He lost his way on SN as a highlights guy. He was wicked on the Page and chased Dan Russell so thats a win in and of itself. Getting tagged to Neil Macrae wannabe David Pratt was a bad mix. I like Donnie again. If Dhaliwal could shut the fuck up and not shout over everyone it could really work.
Halford and Brough are the best in his town but that's like saying who's the tallest midget.
Thing is..... there isn't much money in it anymore. I bet the Canucks paid more to the pencil thrower in 84 to come out west and get bullied by Al Davidson. Big Al. 5 ft 4 and a buck sixty. Threatened to beat the hell out of Hodge and threatened to kill Neil Macrae while blowing up his own boat. Howie Meeker calling John Mckeachie an idiot on tv and helmet heads like Barry Houlihan, JP McConnell, Bernie Pascall andTommy Larscheid.
I will take the old farts over Hank and Dude's crew of Satiar and Randip. Not sure where Dave Thomlinsen, and Farhan are on their ratings. Those two have the personality of a can of paint. . Drance has this made up maniacal laugh where I seriously want to punch every tooth down his throat. Like Steve Armitage and Brian Williams would be talented and colorful in this market today. Ill take O-Dog or Frank Corrado over most of the filthy toads in this market.

I was a diehard SportsPage guy... loved that show. Often times, I looked forward to the postgame with that crew more than the actual game. Hell, I even enjoy reading the Province more (holding the actual paper), even with tools like Gollum writing daily.
Not a fan of O-Dog or Frankie. Rubs me the wrong way... one guy is a grumpy curmudgeon and the other guy seems to think too highly of himself... just like when he was playing hockey, which he wasn't very good at.
I've seen Armitage a few times near the CBC, completely shitfaced after lunch wondering how he could get behind the camera for afternoon news. Maybe he metabolized alcohol fast. Like WC Fields walking off the carbs and booze before heading back to work.

I don't know most of the people you're referring to, and don't care to. The media surrounding this team seems like nothing more than a flock of vultures.
On the hand, I don't envy their tasks of trying to stay out in front of eyeballs. Rising above the noise in your niche is near impossible these days, and is going to get even harder with the rise of AI. Before a write could write pretty much what he (used to always be a he) in the paper and move on. Now every post is analyzed for clicks, views, etc.
I know a lot of us would like a down-to-earth, no-bullshit, no rumour-mongering writer/podcaster/poster to bring us the insights and news we want - but I doubt it would hold the attention of the masses, and therefore be quickly replaced.

Halford & Brough are the only guys worth listening too here.
I like them because they tend to stay out of the rumour generating mill. They comment on what guys like Friedman say, but they themselves don’t pretend to be in the know. They just hash out the on-ice product similar to the way we do here.
