A Bure flying elbow to Marchand would've been just what the doctor ordered!

He most definitely wouldn't have taken that garbage from him.

Just ask Shane Churla.

Bure just took care of problem before it,(he), became one. What's wrong with that?
Seriously though, Bure was a great player.
All those breakaways, at speed, with the 2 line offside rule.
What could that guy do today in his prime? Scary.

..and he could have sat next to Rome in the press box.

But the underdog factor IS very true. The '94 guys overachieved and came up a little short and will forever be admired for getting that close. The '11 guys were trying to match expectations and didn't quite do it and we will be forever bitter about it. If they'd won we'd still be talking about how stoic Daniel was to take all that crap and get the job done, exactly like SN going on and on last night about Crosby not retaliating against the US.

More than likely yes! But I doubt it would've come to that, Bure was known for his more physical play and was a completely different player than the Sedins.

Marchand wouldn't have taken things that far with Pavel.

I wonder if the Leaves fan can leave behind the loser mentality - I mean, they still think going to game 7 in the 1st round is something to be lauded.

Had the Leaves not been saved from the shortened season, they would have locked up the record for longest playoff drought, which is really too bad, its the only chance this generation has of seeing hockey history being made in Toronto.

Its not like we trot out the 94 team every 30 games or anything... 8-)

I will forever hold the 94 team in my heart Padraig. A good gritty team that had the best and most exciting player in Vancouver Canucks history. I can't imagine Bure getting speedbagged or biting and diving and folding like a cheap tent. Diduck or Serge wouldn't have stood around and watched guys getting close lined and clipped by rats like Marchand and Mcquaid. Pat Quinn would have done something other than giggle and chew gum at the bench.

There is a reason I took the handle Paddy its because the guy who changed everything here for the better was the architect for those seasons... Pavel is my fav player and he didn't put up anybodys stuff i.e Churla Todd Simpson Bryan Marchment etc... Having said all that that team didn't win and watching ceremony after ceremony drives that point home.... thats where the welcome to the celebration of excellence comes in cause as painful as it is for my good buddy Doc Strangelove whose is the leaves biggest cheerleader, these two teams glorify losing like no other... and having said that lets take a trip down Memory Lane with PART 2... some Highlights include Glenn Andersons Jacket Dave Andreychuk's 50 goals and Pat Burns Fist Pump oh yes and Lil Dougie Gilmour or as Doc Strangelove calls him "Killer"makes a eerie prediction as triumphant music acompanies.... LETS TAKE THE JOURNEY.... 8-)

The 94 Stanley Cup Finals is considered one the, if not, the best, finals in the modern hockey era.
And it was.
