Love the saltiness of Canucks fans sometimes.
What Titanic passenger, after witnessing hitting the iceberg, would enthusiastically shout, "Sign me up to extend this cruise!"
Seeing what's happened to that team to what it is today, how can you blame the guy for not giving TFGs an immediate answer?
He didn't slack off a single night, continued to play 30min/night while the 1C couldn't live up to his billing.
By all accounts, he didn't ask for or try to force a trade. Any management group would have read the tea leaves (considering they caused much of the damage) and would have to had to make the same move and not lose the #1 asset for nothing.
Tis funny... Bure was known to have wanted out after the first season and yet he is fawned over forever. There's no proof Hughes said to TFGs to get me outta here, but the fans can't let it go.
I bet if the team was still competing well, he would have taken the $18M/per and still could have forced a trade later if it started sucking halfway. This happens all the time in this league.

I can't believe Breeze-by is still with this org.
This is how bad the drafting and development is if he can't be replaced even for the minor league team.

On the bright side, I don't think we probably need to worry so much about any conflicts regarding Manny coaching his kid in a couple years

Yeah, this was always human sacrifice. Realistically, the chances of success were nil.Cousin Strawberry wrote: ↑Sun Oct 25, 2026 8:37 pm On the bright side, I don't think we probably need to worry so much about any conflicts regarding Manny coaching his kid in a couple years

I literally would not be surprised if the co-prez pull a Trev in a few years after the impatient owner starts coming down and meddling in the R word.
He gonna run out of sacrificial lambs.
