GDT: Canucks host Ducks Mar 24/2026 @ 7 PM PST SNP

Post by Cornuck »

Well, we're out of the playoffs and solidifying our last-place finish - can we do it?

The flames and hawks are playing .500 hockey these days, but the fuckin' rangers seem to have their eye on the prize. (TEN shots on goal last night??)

Our fate is in our hands.

Not worried about any team ‘catching’ Vancouver. Even if 1 team shits the bed for the rest of the season Vancouver still would need to go on a near perfect run to be caught. Only the balls scare me.

4 - 3 ducks as Vancouver had won the two previous games.

Crap - meant to write 10, which is what I saw on NHL.com - but still, they suck, and if anyone is going fuck shit up for us this year, it will be them.

So far my "coffee-free mornings" are not going well....

Looks like a winning lineup! :D

Let's see if Douglas finds a dance partner tonight. :)

I just don't get why we are dressing Kane over anyone who may be on this team next season. Now I don't think Kane has been terrible for us this season and there are no indications he has been a distraction or bad in the locker room. His reputation didn't follow him here. So that is not why I am advocating that. Its just that I highly doubt we are re-signing him so why is he taking oxygen away from any player who we may see in the lineup next year. We don't owe him that.

Regarding Kane:

Just get him to 1000 games and give him his ceremony. After that, don’t name him in the line ups unless there are a lot of injuries.

While I don’t think the acquisition has worked out for both player and team, I think it would be a dick move by the organization not to give him his 1000th game.

Sign to league minimum next year, get him to his 1000th game then waive or trade him. Ya I'm a dick.

Problem here is that could also set a bad precedent for future vet UFA signings.
