With plays like that Sprong may take a spot along side DeBrusk and Pettersson.
The only HW the Canucks need

And DeBrusk caps off an impressive debut with the game winner. From Petey and Quinn.

Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

Depends on Hoggy I think.

Or maybe opposition. Size matters.

A few comments;

Concerning. Hughes dominated, Debrusk, dominated, Soucy steadied everything, Sushi looked ok in a back to back but was definitely tired early on. $11.6M Scooter Boy was invisible five on five ... but the media will claim he was a hero when three on three turned into three on two. Playing preseason against scrubs, he should have been the dominant force he is paid to be, not the lackadaisical coaster he became last season.

Does Huberdeau ride a scooter?

I think we have seen enough of Woo and Wolanin. Deharnais is a project with upside.

Buy Pantera a double double.

Sherwood looked alright, Sprong sprung from zero to hero. Fuck was Calgary bad on that play. All four players backing in as unit meant beat one and you've beat them all. One defender turns the wrong way opening a gap and cutting off two of his team mates. Poor Cooley had to lie on the ice until he figured out he still had clothes on.

A bit less sloppy five on five from the previous night but still a gulf between the NHL regulars and the AHL regulars.

Pretty much agree with all of this from the half of the game I caught.

Very much preseason hockey. More "decisionmaking" problems on D than skill/physicality problems. Gameplay rust or not smart? The gulf between the NHLers and AHLers was quite obvious. At this point, feel okay about the better forwards in the AHL for brief call ups; but not the defense. Letter Kenny has skill; must increase the engine if he wants to be the first option -- the parts are there, but he's got to use them every shift. If Juulsen was trying to prove himself than hold down a 7-8 roster spot, his only consolation would be the play of his competition.... Not terribly worried about Juuls at the end of the day and happy with him as a 7-8, but he can't play like that.

Soucy wasn't all that good with the puck, but its amazing how much difference it makes just being in the right place.... I think the hope is Deharnais can play like Soucy.

UW, Ricky commented post Kraken game was to get Sushi and a few others in back to back to see how they managed it. To see how tired they would be and how they managed the fatigue. For a hopeful rookie prospect, he didn't do too bad.
