Trump killing the bipartisan border deal earlier this year to use it as a political football may come back to haunt him. As a former prosecutor I think Kamala will press her advantage on this one. Should make for a good debate. I hope they keep the mics on.

House Judiciary GOP
@JudiciaryGOP
Mark Zuckerberg just admitted three things:
1. Biden-Harris Admin "pressured" Facebook to censor Americans.
2. Facebook censored Americans.
3. Facebook throttled the Hunter Biden laptop story.
Big win for free speech.

The #1 point is that the Biden-Harris Admin "pressured" Facebook to censor Americans.

As to the lesser point, in the letter Zuckerberg said he regrets not pushing back harder on that government pressure...

Well that took 10 seconds.
Hundreds of (NEWS articles only) from the last year.
I subtracted the word "former" or there would have been many more results.
(did so because sometimes people say "former President")

The second article is a historical reference to Obama's campaign manager.
The third article doesn't mention" President Obama" at all. It also doesn't refer to FDR, JFK, or George Washington as "President".
The fourth article is from 2016 when Obama was still president.
That's as far as I bothered going. You may yet be right but I'm not seeing it yet.

The site goes on to to mention it's okay in informal settings to refer to former presidents as "President" which is what I mentioned in my reply to Megs. I actually referred to this very website before I responded to him.Formally Addressing the Former President
When addressing a former President of the United States in a formal setting, the correct form is “Mr. LastName.” (“President LastName” or “Mr. President” are terms reserved for the current head of state.) This is true for other ex-officials, as well. When talking about the person to a third party, on the other hand, it’s appropriate to say, “former President LastName.” This holds for introductions, as well: A current state governor is introduced as “Governor Tom Smith,” while you’d introduce an ex-governor as “former Governor Jim Bell.”

Right, so...5thhorseman wrote: ↑Tue Aug 27, 2024 3:39 pm it's okay in informal settings to refer to former presidents as "President"
*knocks on Horsey's forehead*
X is an informal setting.
How this all started…
5thhorseman: “You can spot the conspiracy nutjobs by how they refer to Trump.”
Strangelove: “Right, the nutjobs relentlessly criticize Trump and everyone who supports him...”
5thhorseman: “"President Trump" lol. She's a closet election denier who ignores the results of over 60 court cases. Crazeeeeee!”
Okay, so “she” was posting in an informal setting and referred to “President Trump”. All good.
As I’ve been saying, the only “nutjob” here is you (you lost your shit over dat dere).

Thus endeth the lesson.

Um no, let's look at what Corn's link calls an informal setting:
X is obviously nothing like a private lunch or where everybody agrees. In an informal setting (such as a private lunch), it’s acceptable to use the title the ex-official held. Here, you could refer to former President Jimmy Carter as either “President Carter” or “Mr. Carter.” In reality, many people ignore this convention and refer to former Presidents as "President Last Name" when they are in settings where nearly everyone would afford them the honor of the title. Technically, this is still incorrect but there are enough former Presidents allowing this that it has become a somewhat common mistake.
Anyways, I don't really care what the social convention is or to argue over it, my point was that you can identify the nutters as the ones who call him President Trump. They just can't let go of 2020.
