Re: Draft Lottery Destiny

Can't remember who had the idea here, but I still think packaging the Canucks first with Peterson to get him out of here is a solid way to go. St. Louis 2x1st this year (Ruck brothers?) and their 2nd, plus their 1st next year and a player/prospect wouldn't be a bad swap.

Re: Random Hockey Shit

Don't think I appreciated this era of the sport as much as I should have. I think maybe cuz it got to a point where it was too stagy and more often wot, main reason it got phased out. But watching these old clips make me miss the way it used to be. Getting a kick outta the old tilts in particular ...

Hey...how about Mike Keane 5'10" 185 or Todd Gill 6' 180.

Or Stan Jonathan 5'8" 175.

Surprised no one brought those guys up.
Another former Canuck who was an undersized fighter was Scott Walker. His fight against Mike Keane is one of the all time great fights.

Re: We're All Doomed!™ (the Conquest, War, Famine, and Death Thread)

I wonder who they will find to fight it? If the news is accurate that the one carrier is experiencing mechanical failure from sailors flushing t-shirts and is now returning to Greece for repairs then the kids may actually get to decide. Good on them if it does work out that way.

Re: Not so deep thoughts by donlever

We're an outpost out here, way off the beaten track. I think it's harder for athletes to be fully recognized for their talents out here. Maybe I'm wrong. The "East Coast Bias" - where the hockey writers and everyone else don't stay up to watch west coast games? I'd say it's still a thing, but maybe ...

Re: Not so deep thoughts by donlever

Admittedly I have only glanced at the headlines, however the ownership appears to have constant chaos going on outside of the team. The chances of that not trickling down to the team is slim. If any of the players were my kid or brother I would tell them to steer clear of the Canucks because its not ...

Re: Past Canuck Players

Since JPP wants this (rightly so) about Canucks   ...I'd take Matt Fucking Cooke on this team right now. Cooke was a heart player. Even so Gino, May and many others i'd like to have on the team right now. Ruutu, Burrows, Rypien...... Edit: did not seen the posts after i wrote mine to ...

Re: Tanking

I know it's selfish, but it was more entertaining when the team could be bad and tough. At least be annoying, now the team is just annoying to watch.

Re: The Petey Predicament

If the gossip has any truth to it then JT has been proven right. Given how things have played out the obvious choice would have been to trade EP40 while there was still value there and keep JT.

Miller being toxic seems over-blown to me.

Re: Canucks News N Notes 25-26

Detroit was famous years ago for simmering their prospects in the minors til 22-23 before they made the jump. This course of development always made the most sense to me and could certainly account for flubs like the aforementioned young up and comers failure to progress/bust. There will always be ...

Kane is too slow to try for the centre line. What a bonehead play.

Geez, poor Chytil just can't avoid contact. He's like a magnet out there. I’d probably say - “he can’t take a hit” due to his concussion history, problem is, there’s hitting in hockey. It's chicken or egg Chef. Poor situational awareness, or concussion-prone? Yes to both. Best case scenario would hav ...
