Re: AROUND THE LEAGUE - 25-26
Blues and Rags are not going to make the Tank easy, but at the moment the Canucks have a Foote on their throats.

Re: SOL-Re: GDT - Leaves @ Tanks Jan 31/2026 @ 4:00pm PST SN CBC
You really think Foote wants Lekkerimaki passing DeBrusk at even strength scoring when DeBrusk has played 54 games with average ice time of 17:18 per game; while Lekkerimaki has only played 11 games at 11:32? They are currently tied at 2 even strength goals each. Foote would look like a Moron giving ...

Re: 2026 Pre-TDL Thread
I was expecting a Friday night trade a couple days ago - starting to get impatient. If they have any value at all, Kane and Kampf need to be gone before the break Wednesday. If a couple 7th rounders are offered, take it, just to clear more ice time for the kids. But, I’m beginning to think they have ...

On the bright side, the leaves winning a few games here may give them the impression they can still make the playoffs, which they won’t, and make them hesitant to compete with the Canucks in the TDL sell off. Kane and Kampf have little enough trade value, reducing comparable options is a good thing.

Re: The 25-26 Injury Thread
Can’t see Demko being good next season, but I think next season should be another tank year. If they do well in the draft, the season after next Demko can hopefully return to form, and the team can start winning.

I’m amazed that any long timer hear thinks the Canucks “lead” can ever be safe!

Re: 2026 NHL Draft
Malhotra has moved up a lot. A couple months ago he looked like a high teens/low 20s pick. Now solidly in the top ten and may end up being the top centre taken since Lawrence hasn’t impressed much since recently joining the NCAA.

Re: 2026 NHL Draft
Verhoeff, Willander, Hronek all have the potential to be top pairing RHD, which is probably overkill. Selecting Verhoeff opens up the option to trade one in a few years. If Hronek consistently plays the way he has this season, the return should be quite large when his NMC expires in three years ...

Re: 2026 NHL Draft
Stenberg falling to the Canucks with their third pick won’t surprise me. I still think McKenna is going first, but getting a huge, skilled RHD like Verhoeff is rare and probably the number two pick for many teams.
