Re: Rebooted Around the League - 23/24

Great with his stick in and around the net...as good a deflector of the puck as there was. Totally. So many tips for goals, so many rebounds. I think of Pavelski as sort of a "clean" Dino Cicarelli (no crazy stares, trash talk, slashing, spearing, nudity or (alleged) substance use), or the player C...

Re: Rebooted Around the League - 23/24

Joe Pavelski said he's played his last game. UW was a big Pavelski fan when Pavelski was UWPavelski. Led the last UW NCAA national championship team. A member of the famed 2003 draft class -- a 7th rounder -- Pavelski overcame a smaller statute and a choppy stride with brains and guts and hands. 476...

Re: 2024 Offseason - moving forward

When he's playing poorly, trade Boeser, he sucks! (And there is no market for that salary, not any that would bring assets in return and may require taking a distressed asset or throwing in a sweetener to facilitate). When he's playing well, keep Boeser at any cost, he's a warrior! (And there are a...

Re: 2024 Offseason - moving forward

The cap space is a mirage, it will disappear soon. Gotta be careful what we do this year regarding Boeser next summer and Hughes soon after regarding “long term” contracts. I imagine Hughes will be getting Pettersson money, even more. I know idiots out there fancy trading our best playoff performer...

Re: 2024 Offseason - moving forward

Yup, and resigning Boeser will be cheaper than finding an equivalent top-6 RW on the UFA market (or via trade for that matter), Boeser, maybe more than any other Canuck, may take less than market value to stay. Which is an odd thing for a guy who was given permission (and thus must have asked for i...

Re: 2024 Offseason - moving forward

This is the main issue this summer. Is QH a Norris winning defenseman because he finally got the right partner or is it more to do with timing and/or his development. First half Hronek is a 7-8+/yr dman, second half is more like a 4-5/yr. It is likely "both" more than one or the other. He developed...

Re: 2024 Offseason - moving forward

Hronek doesn’t want to sign for a reasonable cap hit. You have to wonder whether that's the reason Yzerman was keen on moving him. Wasn't the player, it was projecting a difficult signing. Of course the future returns are the benefit to Detroit for the trade, but replacing Hronek with Petry and Hol...

Re: 2024 Offseason - moving forward

Lindholm @ 6.7 x 5 - sign me up! but if it's the 7.9 x 7 from the Athletic.. no thanks Of the three I want Zadorov the most. I worry about giving Joshua too much money, he can be a floater and can come across as indifferent. If there is the potential for a bad contract it’s Joshua. Lindholms age co...

Re: Canucks News N Notes 23-24 Playoff Edition

Tendinitis can be managed in the short term with drugs. Sure, it probably hurt, and sucked to go through - but with ice, drugs and a medical team managing it - it shouldn't have affected his performance that badly. Kind of was hoping it was something a bit more serious, FFS, my Mom used to play ten...

Re: Post season wrap up.

Only guys I’m keeping….. Miller Boeser Garland Hughes Zadorov The rest are replaceable. Hughes needs a Schenn-type beside him though. Hronek was good for the first 60 games of the season, but as the games got tougher you could see that Quinn needed a guy beside him that could push opponents around ...

Re: Post season wrap up.

I think the season was very good, and in the post-season, the Canucks didn't collapse or hit a second gear. There's more this group could have done, but I don't think they should hang their heads. They showed a good amount of resilience, the ability to play many different kinds of games, and a high ...

Don’t like this JT. 50% of the time we see this from him and he finds it and even takes over. 50% of the time it is like game 4.

Don’t like this Dakota Joshua. Turning radius like a semi truck.

Like the d.

Like Garland.

Love Silovs.

Let’s go!

Re: W-GDT: Canucks host oil - May16 - 7pm - R2G5

I went to Hulu Live for the playoffs and its also far better. Which is crazy since I am also getting ESPN+ through hulu (or at least that's how I watch it). I didn't think of Hulu live - I've got the Disney/ESPN/Hulu package - but when the first playoff game up, I "assumed" that ESPN+ would have "E...

Re: W-GDT: Canucks host oil - May16 - 7pm - R2G5

I get games through ESPN+, which carries all out of market, non nationally televised games. The ESPN+ Ads are horrible - and repeated non-stop. Still a good deal - but - I find their streaming to be much worse than any other service. I get a ton of buffering and low-res with them - vs none with Sli...
