Ok - there's a LOT that could happen between now and when the season starts - so let's see some predictions about the short and long term.

Will Petey get traded?? How about Demko? SIvlos? Anyone else on their way out?

Any free agents coming in on July 1st?

Do we trade our pick? Do we trade and add a pick?

I guess we can also comment with "what we think will happen" and "what we want to happen."

I'm gonna go with the only roster change from the end of last season to puck drop in the fall being a free agent signing to replace Boeser.

No serious players are going to come here right now. Management needs to do some serious damage control and rebuild the reputation of the organization after the debacle that was this past season.

They will spin this with the "nothing made sense" excuse and tie in "We thing that between Chytil and Raty that both of them are good enough to compete for the 2C spot behind Pettersson.

Demko will likely be injured again before the end of November and we will be running with Lankinen and Silovs making us all wonder why we didn't trade Demko in the summer.

Fuck - the "summer prediction thread" sure went to the "deep dark grey days of autumn prediction thread" fast!

Also - can't disagree with any of that - but....

I think one of the goalies moves. We're not going to carry 3, so I'm thinking Sivlos is gone after his stellar playoffs, and he will bring us a pick or prospect.

I don't see any UFAs coming in - just because we won't have room for them. We'll see a few placeholder spots filled in September, though.

I'd be really surprised if there is a major trade made - I think this franchise needs stability more than anything right now.

I fully expect sweet fuck all in the way of significant changes, but expect a bevy of activity regarding lame ass deals here and there.

Robertson is an RFA after this coming season, I imagine he will get a decent bump from his current $7.75 million per. He’s a winger, he’s American. Not sure I see it happening with Vancouver, a good season he’s getting upwards and over $10 million, I can see why Dallas wants to move him. Very few Americans won’t to play out their retirement contracts in Canada.

I still see Demko as the chip to get us help down the middle. I don’t think they want to trade Willander, I believe they’d rather trade RS D-man Hronek, whom I believe is the next option after Demko. Could see a scenario where they trade both to fix our garbage top 6 situation. Remember, Adam Foote is a huge fan of D- Petey, I dont believe they want to trade him plus D-Pete and Willander were quite a pair at the international level, they have history and chemistry. The first for M-Pete should’ve been dealt for a centre, redundant bullshit. Scooter boy ain’t going nowhere, I imagine the offers are absolute garbage putting to shame what they received in return for JT Miller. You won’t get shit for Shytil. He sucks, avoids the hard areas because of his sensitive melon, he’s a god damned lemon, NYR pulled the wool over Allvin and Ruth’s eyes for sure.

Demko and Hronek out and please, for the love of Zeus! Stop trading draft picks.

PS. I worry bird bones Lekkerimaki is to thin, Brad Ference thin, I’d add him to the Demko and Hronek list of who gets traded. His piss poor AHL playoffs have been a revelation.

What boils chef el dented noodle is this whole notion of “we need to make moves now to appease Quinn Hughes!” As we all know all to well, this is a recipe for disaster. The panic mindset. I also don’t buy the bullshit that Hughes needs to see “short term” gratification on whether he stays or he goes - “prove me now!”. He’s not an idiot on the trials of building a winner. What he wants to see is a plan!

If moves are made that need time to develop but you can see clearly that they will develop this would most certainly convince Quinn to want to stay. If knee jerk moves are made, decimating the depth without long term thinking take place why in the fuck would Hughes want to sign “long term”! He’s smarter than that, Hughes is going to play great hockey for 8-10 years. He’s not thinking ‘now’. What he wants to see, no matter where he goes, is a team that will be good for a long time, building for that, he’s young ffs.

All the local media fucks especially Drancer crying out “we need to make moves now! To make Quinn happy!!!” You know what the Michelin Chef Chef Boi RD says to that? “Fuck Quinn Hughes, this ain’t about him!” It’s about this organization to finally stop being the leagues dumbest organization, for once.
