Since I hit the island I have not watched TV once while here which I find interesting so no.

And...the Islanders...tough team to watch.

I'll have to catch the highlights if it happens.

Honestly the Caps have Carolina at home next, I'd prefer he did it there.

Post game, Ovi asked for Sorokin's stick. Ilya posed with Ovi and Wayne. When asked what he would get from Ovi in return for the stick, Ilya said "respect."

The NHL definitely does have some class when it comes to these sort of things. Not sure other league's have the same level of in-game recognition for individual milestones.

I love that Ovechkin refused to go on the ice for an empty net opportunity because he wanted 895 to be a "real" goal. Even better is that he was rewarded with a beauty of a goal.....how often does it seem that milestones are reached out of a scrum or some random deflection? That was one for the ages.

I have a suspicion that Ovie will pull a Jagr and play a few more seasons.....could hit 1000.

Wifey and I were watching live today and thoroughly enjoyed the long stoppage for celebration.

Seems like yesterday she and I attended Ovi's first-ever appearance in Vancouver.

And WOW, what a performance that was!
