Morrisey is quite a bit better than Myers and quite a bit younger as well. That’s a good deal for the Jets.The Brown Wizard wrote: ↑Thu Sep 12, 2019 8:39 am Morrisey signs at 8x50.
Myers @6 signing was a good deal

SJ Shark's Press release;
The San Jose Sharks have named Logan Couture as the team's captain for the 2019-20 season. Couture is the 10th captain in franchise history. The team also named four alternates on Thursday in Joe Thornton, Brent Burns, Tomas Hertl and Erik Karlsson.2 hours ago
And they have a team that can compete for the very same playoff spots the Canucks are competing for.
I don’t know if he’s quite a bit better, he’s better, but the big difference is hes a young guy that probably still has some potential yet. I’d definitely take morrisey at this aav over trouba at 8 per year. Trouba is super overrated, I don’t think trouba is much better than Myers.Doyle Hargraves wrote: ↑Thu Sep 12, 2019 9:13 amMorrisey is quite a bit better than Myers and quite a bit younger as well. It should be a good deal for the Jets. But, 9 years is a pretty long commitment, as he still has 1 year left on his contract. I find it interesting that both the club and Morrissey wanted to sign early. My guess is the team saw a chance to buy up a lot of UFA years and the kid sees guaranteed big bucks. But, if he has a good season, the kid will leave $$ on the table. If he has a bad season, the team over-paid. Only time will tell, I guess.Richardstroker69 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 12, 2019 10:13 amI don’t know if he’s quite a bit better, he’s better, but the big difference is hes a young guy that probably still has some potential yet. I’d like to see how good you think Myers is if he was able to play with morrissey. Morrissey has benefited from very good d partners. Other than morrissey that left side of their d is horrible.Doyle Hargraves wrote: ↑Thu Sep 12, 2019 10:25 am He’s a legit top pairing guy. He’s a LH version of Tanev that’s more durable, has more offence and tougher.
Morrisey is far better than Trouba or Myers
Myers isn’t a top pairing guy so he’d have no business playing Byfuglien’s minutes. I don’t think you’ve seen Morrisey play much. But yeah Myers would look better with Morrisey carrying him. Morrisey is as good or better than Hamhuis in his prime.Richardstroker69 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 12, 2019 10:47 amI’d like to see how good you think Myers is if he was able to play with morrissey. This is debatable.Doyle Hargraves wrote: ↑Thu Sep 12, 2019 10:51 am
Morrisey is a far better defensive D man. Their offence is about the same but their defending skills aren’t close.
Well, given their status (UFA vs RFA), I'd say you cannot compare their situations. The Canucks would have had to trade for Morrissey, and it would likely be at least a 1st round pick, if Winnipeg wanted to deal. So, Meyers v.s. Morrissey and a 1st? For the Canucks, Meyers is the better option, regardless that Morrissey is the better player.Doyle Hargraves wrote: ↑Thu Sep 12, 2019 10:51 am No one is shitting on Myers here. But the Brown Lizard brought up that Vancouver got some great deal with Myers and compared it to Morrisey.

I was responding to Lizzy. He made it sound like the Canucks made out like bandits signing Myers. I think the Myers signing is ok, but not great. The Morrisey contract will be one of the best deals in the league. I’m well aware of the differences between UFA and RFA.Tciso wrote: ↑Thu Sep 12, 2019 11:18 amWell, given their status (UFA vs RFA), I'd say you cannot compare their situations.
