One of my fav Bowie tunes.

The acoustic version with guitar and vocal only is great.

Quiye enjoy that entire album tbh.

Back to pussies and overpaid hockey players....

The only way we are to fixing the centre situation is making a move we don’t want to make. One of the three top prospects will have to be tabled to make the move we need to make to get that “young” centre they have said recently, they won’t.

The guy to get that done is Willander and I’m OK with that. He is obviously the most valued prospect of the three. If it weren’t for the pleasant surprising revelation of DPete and Mancini, I ain’t talking such nonsense. But he’s the guy. He will move the needle to get a team to budge on trading a centre. Chef is super impress with RS Mancini and more impressed with LS DPete.

Willander is ready to step into the NHL, teams would be drooling at the idea of landing the righty. Getterdun!

Anaheim, let’s talk McTavish for Willander. LA, let’s talk Willander for Byfield, etc.

Much as I think highly of Willander and his NHL future, and would look forward to seeing what he can do for the Canucks, if he's the central piece/price for either McTavish or Byfield I would do it. The blueline is set, and with Mancini and D-Petey in the wings the team needs a McTavish of Byfield more than a Willander. McTavish or Byfield would be intriguing, indeed.

Byfield still has shown anyone he’s going to be a top-6 center tho, let alone a 1C.

McTavish has shown there’s potential for that though.

Admittedly very limited sample and going largely by stats.
Somewhere in NW BC trying (yet again) to trade a(nother) Swede…..

And Willander has yet to show he can play in the NHL. But he does play that highly coveted RD spot.
The only HW the Canucks need

In two years Myers will be near done. Keep Willander and Hronek as top four RHD, and Hughes and Meaty as top four LHD. They trade Willander and Myers goes past best before date, they are back to square one. Finding a top four RHD is harder than finding a 2C. I’d also keep DPetey. If the have to add a defencemen to the trade block, it should be depth Dmen behind those five - maybe Mancini, KK, or McWard, but they better be getting a centre with just as much upside.

If I were the Canucks, I am keeping Willander unless he is bringing back a true 1C in a trade.

They ain’t solving the centre ice position by offering up any of those assets. Need to step up to the plate better than that.

Keep in mind we have a legit top pairing RH D who's 27 years old, plays all situations and is signed to a very team friendly deal for seven more years. Still have Myers, Mancini and it looks like Baby EP can play both sides as apparently KK can do as well. The left side is set. Wilander would yield the highest return easily.

You definitely smell what the Chef is cooking, Blob. The D is set. Willander is the carrot that solves the Centre position.

D isn’t set at RHD without Willander. Ideally next year Myers should be transitioning down onto the bottom pair as Willander works his way to the top four.

Myers looks like he could play another 5 years. The dude is a fitness junkie. Mancini looks very solid. Hronek has top pairing right side locked up for the next 5 years. We can afford to lose Willander in solving the top 2 centre black hole. It’s dire. Willander would return a solid asset.

He’s going to play in the top four until he’s 40?
Don’t think so.
He’s 35 now. His current contract ends when he is 37.
He’ll definitely be bottom pairing at best by then.
If Willander is as solid as he projects, he should replace Myers by next Christmas in the top four.
Mancini and McWard may only get to bottom pairing defencemen at best.
Hugh mistake to break up the potential top four of Hughes, Hronek, Meaty and Willander.
