I agree he has no value to other GMs and they’d be lucky to get a late pick for him. No way they’ll get a third. He is really over valued by some posters here. The best they might be able to do is flip him for another player that another GM has given up on, or a thrown in as part of a multiplayer deal.

Yup. I see more potential than most there Mick but hes more or less a longshot to make an nhl roster at this point.

Why qualify him?

Probably because he's an affordable gamble.
Low risk with a higher potential ceiling

He can score well in Utica and won’t count against the cap. If there are too many injuries he could be called up.

That in itself is worth more than a 7th.

Depends. The current GM has spent a 3rd on Andrei Pedan, 2nds on Baertschi and Vey and thrown other 2nds into deals when he probably didn’t need to. It depends on how the acquiring GM sees the prospective player in terms of asset value

It all depends on if Gobby does what he said he was going to do this off-season. He has all the tools to become a consistent 20 goal winger, and that is worth a lot. -IF- he manages to figure out the game at the NHL level, and works on his defense, I can easily see him being a solid scoring 3rd liner with 2nd line fill-in potential. He was on a 35 point pace last season. If he takes a step forward, he could easily be a 40 point guy and earn a $2-3 million contract in a year or 2, and be a key part of our depth. Now, he easily could also be a 3rd liner in the KHL making $150,000 a year too. That boy needs
to eat some fibre this summer, cuz it's time to shit or get off the pot for him.

I think pedan was a good gamble at the cost of a 3rd, Benning overpaid to get willie and Trevor their Medicine Hat boy. One thing Benning is willing to do is give the coaches some say in personnel, hence the overpaying for beagle in free agency last year.

Benning and Green are looking like they're doing one hell of alot better than just coexisting like some.
For me, the more they see eye to eye, the better chance the team has of succeeding.
Again, still some mopping up. All good in regards to direction.
........................................so it would seem.
