That's not what I think when I read (roughly paraphrasing) "three years and over $9m in salary."

Normally I would have never thought for a second Simmons meant $9M-per rather than $3M-per.

Rich Krezwick’s $2.3 million suit also alleged that Lamoriello was “smiling and laughing” when his replacement was announced, and had threatened to quit if Krezwick was not fired.

“Lamoriello physically positioned himself in a chair at the base of the employee elevator of the [Prudential Center] so that he could watch these individuals pass by with their boxes of personal belongings in order to leave the building directly after they were fired and to laugh as they passed by, as to take credit for their firing,” the lawsuit stated, according to local news website NorthJersey. com.
