Pretty much. That’s why I laugh at the constant Cam Neely comparisons. Hell I’d settle for Virtanen becoming another Dustin Brown which with his physical gifts shouldn’t be that much to ask. The problem is Jake just doesn’t give a fuck. He parties like a rock star, and eats like a fucking pig. People blaming his lack of production or not getting enough opportunity on Travis Green are out to lunch.
Well , when you’re out partying at a packed downtown Vancouver nightclub on the eve of entering a quarantined bubble with fellow NHL’ers that kind of gives us an insight on the man, the myth, the legend that Jake is becoming. Rocks between his ears. Apparently the NHL brethren were non too happy with Jake. He’s a fucking idiot plain and simple. If we can add him as the sweetener to get rid of Loui please fucking do it!
I watched some of "Bull Durham" on a movie channel a few weeks ago and my impression of Virtanen is he's there's a bit of the Tim Robbins character with him.

Nuke LaLoosh is a classic character. Tim Robbins nailed that part
‘Women get Woolly’ Someone needs to be Crash Davis here and smack the kid multiple times. JT Miller seems about right for the role.

JV just isn't worth having on the team. Not even for one year. There is no more "show me". He already has! He could have been a top player in the league. He has the skills but can't devote himself to what it takes to be an elite player. Wasted enough effort on him. Maybe a change and he pulls it together. Sign and trade. His name has been sullied but we could still get something worthwhile back.

I wouldn't doubt Virts has a Blaupunkt but what he really needs is a mean streak. Miller is perfect for the role and Virtanen may just get his make or break playing extended time with Miller and Pettersson whenever the season starts.

Just heard Virtanen signed a two year deal for 2.55 x 2 years. Not sure if that takes him to UFA. I guess he can buy more rounds for his bro’s at the bars down on Davie Street.

A bit surprised by the cap hit, thought it might be a bit lower. Not a huge JV fan, kind of done with him but he does have talent. Hopefully he figures it out and can be a top 6 guy.
