That doesn't seem like much for the Pens. They give up a 24-year-old, former 1st rounder for an undrafted, 24-year-old German and a pick.

Kahun did get 13 goals and 24 assists in 82 games.

I haven't watched Maatta play that much. Is he really that bad?
Super slow, and lots of injuries

Blob - I know that we do not want to give a bad contract to anyone but do you honestly want to go forward with the same D? There has to be a guy or 2 you like that we can get and even want to protect?
Jordie Benn is the answer apparently, lol
Apparently Benn at 3 x 3 is a horrible deal. Dude would prefer a worse player in Zaitsev at much more money and way more term.

He’s licking his pock riddled lips to see Elmer give 7 x 7 to Tyler Myers AND Jake Gardiner.
I think zaitsev is a better player than Benn, he’s just miscast under Babcock. I like benn though, but he’s a lhd (I think) and not much more than a bottom pairing guy, with tyramkin coming back and Hutton still around I don’t know if it’s worth locking up the left side with Hughes, joulevi and tyramkin all ready to play.

Blob wants to litter the line up with Jordie Benns. Exciting beyond belief

Yeah people are saying Bowman took the loss on this one.

Interesting...

Still think Bowman is going to pick Byram at #3?

Keith
Byram
Maatta
Gustafsson
Jokiharju
Koekkoek
Forsling
Dahlstrom

Seems like their left-shooting defensemen are already pretty good without Maatta (that is if they indeed pick Byram).

I’d remove Forsling from this list, very undeserving, and replace him with Boqvist and don’t forget about Beaudin

Those are just some of the left D they (might) have. Beaudin is another lefty that has tons of potential.

That is why I'm not sure about this Maatta trade... unless he's going to play the right side along with Seabrook, Murphy and Boqvist?

It makes me question if Bowman might not pick one of the USND forwards instead of Byram.

Nah, I think they take Turcotte - hometown kid - and future Toews replacement.

Avs can go many directions if Turcotte is gone, Byram or Zegras.

Kings would love to get Byram imo, the heir to Doughty.

No he isn’t. Furthermore having bottom pairing d men on five year contracts for 4.5 million is asinine.

Benn can play both sides and would likely be cheap and wouldn’t get five to seven years.

Jordie Benn - the answer. Him and Jamie McGinn and Troy Brouwer. Blob concerning himself with the cap again, preferring to litter the line up with meh Jordie Benns cause they are cheap and lousy

Dude wouldn’t be smart enough to bow out on Myers if 7 x 7 wasn’t enough. He’d go to 8 or 9 million per year because Myers is tall.

Dude’s dream team:

Myers - 8 million
Sutter- 4.35
Beagle- 3
Gardiner- 7
Eriksson- 6
Spooner- 4

And then he’d wonder where all the cap space for Boeser and Petterson went.

Tyler Myers is tall.

Nikita Zaitsev is Russian.

Dude wants this as a bottom pairing and he’d love to pay them a combined 12.5 million a year.
