So, the Brexiteers have been talking about how much better trade deals they can get on their own. There are more than 190 countries in the World. So far they've gotten around to negotiating with 4, I think. And then consider that a comprehensive trade deal typically takes 6-8 years to negotiate....
Now, the World is basically already divided into blocks, so they probably do not need 190. At present, as EU members, they're party to roughly 40, but once Brexit occurs, they're on their own. It's rather alarming that they haven't prepared better for this.
Anyway, one of the things they've especially talked about is getting a better deal with the USA. Unfortunately they seem to have forgotten Donald Trump's America First clause. But they may be starting to smell the coffee now:
The U.S. laid out its vision for a sweeping trade deal with post-Brexit Britain -- and it’s likely to raise alarm bells in London.
President Donald Trump’s administration published its “negotiating objectives” for a future trade agreement late Thursday, including “comprehensive access” for agricultural goods and a demand to remove “unwarranted barriers” to trade in the farm industry related to health and safety checks.
The above should probably be read as a demand that the UK must remove the ban on hormone-laden beef and chlorinated chicken if they want to do business with the US!
Try to get out of that one without having the EU to back you up!
Also, the US wants a clause against the UK negotiating a free trade deal with China, which is probably the second highest priority on the UK list.

Anglofilia is quite widespread in Sweden, and English is the foreign language most Swedes know best.
My youngest daughter has like a tonne of friends that have either worked or studied in England, including her former (studying in Manchester) and present (living in Essex) boyfriends.
And it's not just her friends. Roughly 100,000 Swedes live in Britain. That's 1% of us, or just as many as live in Gävle.
The UK is our 7th greatest export market, behind Germany, Norway, Finland, Denmark, the US and the Netherlands. It used to be #6, but just got passed by the Dutch. Possibly because of Brexit? Not sure.
It is also our fifth main source of imports, behind Germany, the Netherlands, Norway and Denmark. (we have massive trade surplusses with the US and Finland).
Both history and culture play a part. Sweden was one of the first countries the Beatles visited, and the first country to buy Monty Python from the BBC. We love British culture. Most Swedes have a team in the PL they root for, I'm the exception.
But then I have always preferred hockey over football. Plus I think British football is overrated.
So yeah, we will continue to do business with the British, even after Brexit.
But most likely at a slightly lower level as tariffs, trade barriers and red tape take their toll.
That I and many other Swedes are so concerned about Brexit is in part that we're upset the Poms don't want to hang with us any more.
That's hurtful.
And also, Brexit seems like a very stupid thing to do.
It will stymie the British economy for decades to come, if not permanently.
Thus I feel sorry for the poor bastards living there.

Your average pom is sick of their businesses being undercut by the waves of polish, Hungarian, romanian, etc migrant workers who bid at a fraction of the market rates for trades and services. Then theres all the crime and bullshit they bring...top it all off with the new waves of EU mandated refugee hordes and you have them wanting out.
Your own country has the same issues but is far more tolerant and polite than the mouthbreathers from england but you definitely already know theres a similar issue in sweden

When I lived in England everyone wanted a Polish builder cos they did superior work. If you wanted to get a job done for cheap, hire one of the local asians, but they'll circumvent building code and all that.

Right, except that the EU was the brainchild of right wing politicians... Winston Churchill in 1946 Calling for a United States of Europe and Monnet and Schuman helping form the European Coal and Steel Community that formed the foundation of what would become the EU.
Of the 11 founding fathers of the EU, three (Spinelli, Spaak and Mansholt) were left wing, Beyen was a liberal and the rest were right wingers (Adenauer, de Gasperi and Hallstein were Christian Democrats, Churchill conservative, Bech "Party of the Right" and Monnet and Schuman were working for de Gaulle's Popular Republican Movement).
Not to mention that the EPP, which is a right wing umbrella group for conservatives, liberal conservatives and christian democrats, is the biggest group in the European Parliament as well as the home base of President Juncker.
If you talk to eg Italian communists or Greek or Spanish socialists they'll tell you that the EU is run by unfettered market liberalism.
